VW1840 WJ(w)>AC - Looks like I've got another ex First bus to get on, not that I'm complaining because VW1819/1822/1837 are amazing buses and surprisingly fast, not to mention the comfy seats.

Wait what? I thought those buses were horrendous, slow and incredibly tatty as they’ve still not had a refurbishment after 9 and a half years.

I don't know if AC just managed to get the good ones, or whether they got a bit of TLC during their period off the road (doubtful), its also possible it was just exaggerated how bad they were, or the routes they were on happened to be slower paced. VW1819/1822/1837 have proved their worth, as they were pretty quick when on the 302 on my several rides on them. I have yet to sample VW1840 (Hopefully it'll be on the 302 tomorrow so I can get on it), the interiors are pretty worn yes, but overall the seating is still fairly comfortable and padded, way more then some of the other buses I have ridden, though the Lazzerini Practico seats I tend to find are usually more comfortable. I have definitely seen buses that haven't been refurbished in more like 5 years that look in worse shape then these 3 VWs that haven't been refurbished in over 9.

The 18s VNs were always quick even from new. The 427 batch was not as good for some reason. The 25s Voiths were just horrendous.

Agree about the 427's batch, those buses are dreadfully sluggish and were a blight on the Uxbridge Road corridor, thank god we've finally got rid of them despite some of them having worked all three of the 207, 427, and 607.

Wonder could this be for maintenance ? This could leave the 267 short otherwise.

VW1208 EW > HD - I wonder what's going on here, VWs are transferring out left, right and center.
