That definitely looks odd. What IS it? I can only guess (from that grey logo on the front with what looks like a red square in the middle, and from the side window profile), that it could be a bus with BMC bodywork (probably got the name wrong), or whatever the name is - the bodybuilder that was a predecessor to MCV but came after Marshalls finished? Most likely incorrect though It is an Ikarus Polaris bodied MAN

It isn't the only one - many of the Gemini double-deckers with Lothian Buses also omit the W-shaped indent on the front. They have utilised that space to apply route-branding, so perhaps Trent Barton will do / have done the same thing with the bus in the pic? Yes this area will be used for Route Branding, as has been the case for the new Indigo buses. I initially thought this front without the 'teeth' would look very odd, but it does look alright as long as the space is filled.

this must be one of the worst colour schemes ever, a multicolour enlargement of bits of chemical periodic table (the ad on side gives clue, it serves a science park) Do you agree it looks naff ? kuszok.fpic.co.uk/p59538291.html

Eww Fair enough the livery is meant to be based on the Periodic Table, but it looks like a kid got a few buckets of paint and chucked it allover the bus I think we've found a contender for the "Pinko" WVL that appeared a few years back... this must be one of the worst colour schemes ever, a multicolour enlargement of bits of chemical periodic table (the ad on side gives clue, it serves a science park) Do you agree it looks naff ? kuszok.fpic.co.uk/p59538291.html

Nu-Venture have modified one of their Carlyle-bodied Darts with a "more futuristic" front end. This really doesn't do it for me. I'll leave it to you guys to decide what you think about it Nu-Venture No.700 (RIB 7002)

SM Coaches of Harlow , Essex operate a couple of strange bus types. This one is an Irisbus Agora Line, the design is originally Renault. Renault stopped making this type in 2002, with Irisbus carrying it on. This one is from 2006 and has a blue skirt now. I have ridden it and it has Optare windows and bars. ian-g-hardie.fotopic.net/p45888872.htmlThis one is horrible, ugly and sounds like a Transit van. suzyscott.fotopic.net/p51059554.html

It is pretty ghastly isn't it?

I think it makes the front 'face' of the bus look rather 'bloated' - a bit like if you fill and push your cheeks out!
