Thamesdown are selling off 4 of there Pointer SLF Darts. These were the first Low Floor buses bought by Thamesdown, and now are the first Low Floor buses to be sold. These were introduced on my local route 17 Park north-Penhill in 1996. I presume these are being sold because of the upcoming delivery of 6 more Scania K230 Solars for route 17, making route 17 the 3rd Scania operated route, god i'll miss the SPD's on it now This is quite odd as Thamesdown still have 6 Step floor darts in service, cant see why these have not been sold before the SLF's. Most likely because the SLF's were worked very hard on high frequency routes. Here is the advert from their website. "DUE TO BE RELEASED IN FEBRUARY Four Plaxton Pointer SLF bodied Dennis Darts Euro one engines, three with S2000 gearbox conversion 41 seats with 5-camera digital CCTV system Good trim and bodywork On offer for £17,500 per bus, plus tyres and vat" Link www.thamesdown-transport.co.uk/sale.html

Other way round John Arriva must have had these before Thamesdown bought them - I'm sure that's what you meant anyway. Don't know if anyone else had these in between Arriva and Thamesdown. AFAIK these were brand new to Limebourne back in '97.

I think they've moved from GY to Southend now though since the 370 got its E200's and the other services were withdrawn

Thamesdown got them in 2000. 141 – 144 ex The King’s Ferry via Ensign (dealer), I think it still has safety/no smoking stickers on the inside that Arriva or someone must of put on.

16th Feb changes seem to have been the reason for these SLF sales. Service 1/1A is being cut in half creating new route 2 operating at every 15 mins which most likely will still run Scanias.
I knew last year that increasing 1/1A to every 10 mins was a bad idea, this route serves nothing but expensive non council housing estates, i.e people who all have cars.

More info on them R-Reg SLFs from the showbus website.
"Another secondhand bus. 143 (R317NGM) is a Dennis Dart SLF acquired via Ensignbus from Kent operator King's Ferry. The bus however had been intended for London tendered operations when new and had been ordered by Q-Drive, the parent company of Limebourne. At the time of delivery, Limebourne went out of business and their operatiosn passed to Connex, though the batch of new Plaxton Pointer bodied SLF Darts did not."
