Abellio decided to put 9001 on RAIL today, there was also a Redbridge Transport Vyking earlier as well. Yes - it was supposed to be the bus for my first half but I successfully got to take 9408 instead. The Vyking isn't going out in service. I saw the vyking in service at Forest Gate around 09:40 as I passed in the opposite direction. 9001 seemed very sluggish ( either the driver or the bus ) as we went down Romford Road at about 15mph with cars building up behind.

I see - it was stopped at the stand later because the bus had no ramp or space for a wheelchair. Several drivers refused to drive 9001 for H&S reasons. I was the only one willing to take it in the end. I didn't have too much of an issue with it - it was revving to 2200rpm in 1st and 2nd and eventually got up to 50mph on the dead run back. I had a go in 2004 - extremely strong scent of new bus smell but I don't think that will last long.

Metroline and Abellio on Central Line this weekend ? Metroline on Stratford to Redbridge, Sullivan Buses on Stratford to Loughton with assistance from Abellio at least. Presumably the usual assortment on the Hainault loop. Fairly quiet at Abellio this weekend, I'll be chasing my tail on the Tramlink circuit.

Stagecoach won Birbeck - East Croydon tramlink rail replacement service from 15th to 21st of April, from what I heard will use TL sd's, but might be wrong.

Fairly interesting mix of buses on Central Line RRP including Metroline TEs,VMHs, VWs ,TEHs, Ensign Enviro 200s, Stagecoach Enviro 200s ,Oparte Versas, Sullivan Buses Ex Abellio and TT Es, Ex Stagecoach DS buses ,Abellio E400H MMCs and NBFLs alongside elusive TPs and EVLs( which decided to turn up at Stratford at the same time) and a lot more. Two questions I want to now ask: 1. Is it common for CL-B buses to overtake each other along the A12? 2. On SE RRP from Lewisham to Dartford is the routing and allocation better via Bexleyheath or Woolwich?Would be appreciated if these questions were answered.

Not all will be comfortable with driving at 50mph. Nothing wrong with overtaking a slow moving leader if it is safe to do so. 2. They are both circuitous. Locals are better off taking the 177 for the Woolwich line and the 89 for the Bexleyheath line. These are quality, no nonsense services where scratching isn't really a thing. The 177 in particular is notorious for spirited running. The replacement service for the Woolwich line straightens out east of Woolwich Arsenal and the bulk of passengers using that section transfer to the DLR then Jubilee to get to/from London. The Bexleyheath service meanders around west of Barnehurst and I've actively observed passengers bailing from this service if they see an 89 coming!

Fairly quiet this weeekend. Abellio London & friends will be on the Canning Town to Barking service. Meanwhile the Euro 4 E400s will continue to ply on the Croydon to Birkbeck Tramlink replacement service.
It's also that time again in the engineering cycle for the Sunday evening NLL closure. It has become tradition for the 2215 trip from Stratford to Richmond to be a 66 plate E200 MMC from the P13 allocation but this is suject to;
- Availability - there are only 5 at WL - The late turn 484 drivers not nicking any that are spare - C10 MMCs not being pushed out with no negotiation - E400 MMCs not being pushed out due to ULEZ. There's more than enough room for everyone to have a pair of seats to themselves on this service with a small single decker.

Does the TfL rule of hybrids in ULEZ apply to tube replacement in the ULEZ ? I ask because I am not sure if is it a London bus requirement or TfL as a whole
Today appears route DL6 per TFL website (route UL20 on lvf) is operating from Tower Hill Majority are hybrids, but some diesel buses are also being used.

I don't think it does apply to any rail replacement services, there aren't enough spare hybrids.

Buses on rail replacement only need to meet EuroVI emissions standards within the ULEZ, they do not have to be hybrid (or electric/hydrogen). EDIT: and it appears that route does not enter the ULEZ anyway. ULEZ boundary is exactly the same as the Congestion Charging boundary. Seems this is confusing a lot of people who think that certain roads are included (e.g. Euston Road, Park Lane) when the boundary specifically excludes them.

It does apparently. That route doesn't enter the ULEZ.
