Canning Town to Barking is where it's at for hired in buses from operators of varying fame. I've seen buses from Redbridge Council, Centrebus, Acme and other hard to identify operators - there's a PDL out in ex EOS livery - legals say Swallow Coach co and ED20 which has no GAL logos so presume it has been sold on. Interesting that Centrebus is operating the rail replacement. Wonder if any of the buses used from Centrebus are from Leicester?

The route on the maps is via McLeod Road. At some stage they are going to change the stops to serve Harrow Manorway. A few days ago I covered the SE RRP between Dartford and Woolwich. My PVL and an MHV departed Dartford towards Slade Green together(presumably because our driver was new to the route) and at Abbey Wood our leader took McLeod Road and Basildon Road while we took Knee Hill and Bostall Hill. Is there a fixed route or do drivers go any route as they please. I go via Knee Hill if the bus is up to it. Not much point if it's only going to do 5mph up those hills. The running times do not support battering the bus over all those humps on the 177 line of route.

Yet Knee Hill is somehow unsuitable for the 301. It's not really the kind of road you'd plan to send double deck buses - if two meet on the narrowest part, it's a very tight squeeze even without considering the trees and visibility is poor so avoiding this is difficult. A few years ago I did go up there on a S plate LDP on the B11 when it was on diversion on a snowy night ( and posted about it) - quite an interesting experience!

Presumably the RRBS will be metroline? More than likely some of them given these lines are in prime Metroline territory passing through Perivale, Greenford and Alperton, but definitely not all of them!

Hopefully there will be somthing intresting running! Like ex London 😉 I think the biggest job, Hammersmith to T5 will only require around 30 buses. Journey Planner suggests 7.5 minute frequency and daytime cycle time will probably be around 3.5 - 4 hours - then assume early and late standbys at both ends changing over mid afternoon. The biggest players in rail replacement should be able to cover that. It's not a busy weekend on the TfL front, only other job is Chingford which is usually covered by Arriva. Abellio occasionally hire in buses on Saturdays but only when aggregate rail replacement PVR is higher than around 40 and I haven't seen Metroline outsource anything for jobs of this size.
