WJ already has a mix of 10/12/62 plates being prepared for 28/28, same goes for G which has 11/12 plates being prepared. The allocations are looking a bit messy in terms of fleet codes and age but nonetheless VWs are already being prepared. Is it confirmed yet of the garage the N28 will run from with the vehicles? The N28 is being run from WJ using B9TLs just like the day counterparts.

The final two ex First VWs have now been decomissioned according to Tommy Cooling on FB.

As they are in storage, I wouldn’t be surprised if they sent the electroljners a day or two early to HT, which would release the VWs earlier to be sent to WJ to prepare them for service for 28/N28. No need to do it all on Friday. WJ already has a mix of 10/12/62 plates being prepared for 28/28, same goes for G which has 11/12 plates being prepared. The allocations are looking a bit messy in terms of fleet codes and age but nonetheless VWs are already being prepared. Nice to hear some of my local 10 plates VWs are being saved, although I will miss them with the Dayglow blinds and doing the E2 and E8

They most likely are too old for a new contract so I would think some 62/13 plates could just replace them.

Too old even for an additional 3 years, but I do get the impression those 10 regs could be kept temporary until there is enough surplus. Metroline don’t seem to want to let VWs in general go outside of age (yet happy enough to release native TEs somewhat earlier) and ex-First stuff.

A piece of really interesting news. At PB, are VMH 2451/2/3. It is my understanding that they are to replace older VWHs which will be prepared for Metroline Manchester. I believe this to be true. It WAS my understanding. I'm miles away just now, but it appears that, according to LVF, the 3 VWHs are back in service at PB, and at least one of the 3 VMHs has moved on. Apologies if my original post has proved to be rubbish.

Nevertheless I'm not complaining, the VMH20** batch are lovely buses so I'm glad they aren't going anywhere.

Not sure if this is the right place, but I've seen a post of a new BYD bus for London, and there are reports saying that there are several, meaning it could be a potential order. Metroline have ordered BYD buses before, and they also have a lot of routes that require electrics, so could this be it? I just wish I could get a clearer picture of the livery to see what it's for. However, there are chances of it just being a demonstrator, and most likely there aren't multiple, but I'll see what I find out. It DOES have a high spec interior though, but it's really long in terms of length.. Attachments:

And it was suggested at the time that these were initially intended for Go Ahead to trial (possibly why they have yellow handrails instead of orange?), so weren't necessarily ordered by Metroline. If Metroline were more interested in BYDs, I expect they would have ordered more batches of BDEs. My guess would be multiple demonstrators, or maybe an order for outside of London?

It's been confirmed to be a London demonstrator, only 1 was expected and only 1 has been photographed (only claims of others being there and no photos) It looks like a knock-off Yutong U11DD with a revised front for Vision Zero.

You know when I think about it, obviously it's too late now but I think it was a missed opportunity for the 28 to gain VMHs from the 113 and for the 113 to convert to WDEs using the 83 allocation temporarily.

The bus looks awful in my opinion. I concur — all due respect, it looks like an E400City designed with an Etch-a-Sketch. 🤔
