I look at PB’s schedules and see how many dead runs are made by various routes. And I miss the days I went up there, usually Sundays, when you could catch a W8 or a 263 on a garage run.
The 34 is basically Walthamstow - Potters Bar on Sundays

I would be in favour of live garage journeys but all the additional running time would be rather costly to operate now.

Wouldn’t need all of the trips to run in service, and obviously Sundays only so would limit passenger numbers. There must be a constant stream of PB buses shuttling back and forth between PB and Barnet High Street on Sunday’s . Maybe some savings could be made if only one route had buses doing that journey “dead” and tell drivers on the other routes to hitch a lift on them instead of taking their own bus to the depot for a break. Probably wouldn’t go down very well !

With TFL plans on Oxford Street would you like to see the 113 be taken back to Marble Arch or starting to terminate at Portman Square or even Extended to Piccadilly or Trafalgar Square

Unless the 113 becomes a 24 hour route, I don't see it really going any further than Oxford Circus.

I would rather it be extended to Piccadilly/Trafalgar which would suplement routes already on this section creating more capacity. Becoming a 24 hour route is unlikely.

That said I can see the 113 being a good contender to go 24hr. The night service only runs for 3.5hrs

If you extend the 113 to Trafalgar Square then it essentially becomes a 24 Hour route as the N113 provides that link. The 113 shouldn't go beyond Oxford Circus as its reliability would deteriorate being an already long enough route. I'm indifferent with the current N113, it can be argued that there is little point in giving the 113 the 'N' prefix just to go that little bit further to Trafalgar Square which is 'around the corner' from Oxford Circus/Portman Square. Conversely, the N113 benefits those travelling to and from Trafalgar Square at night. A double-edged sword.

Metroline seems to finally be putting some more of the VWHs delivered before Christmas into service Seem to be going into service generally on route 52
Still about 50 VWHs to enter service (not sure if any are not yet delivered, or if they are stored for some reason) but they were for 2017 contract renewals (originally part of batches for routes 4, 6, 17, 90, 98, 222, 260, 302)) presumably one or more of these routes is still awaiting their new buses

I believe the halving of the service is just the London section between Potters Bar and New Barnet, with the current frequency between St Albans and Potters Bar maintained. There is also changes happening to the 242 as well.

Won't happen now but I wish TFL had introduced a service between Barnet and Potters Bar by either extending a route from Barnet or running a short route between the two places.

Sullivans has the 626 school route (with a very generous PVR of 4) from Potters Bar to Finchley via Barnet. Perhaps running this at 20min intervals all day would work?

I would have liked for the 263 to be extended or a new Potters Bar-Barnet-Barnet Lane/Totteridge-Mill Hill Broadway route, both would have been very useful but looking unlikely sadly.
