Are people on a bus long enough to actually charge a device? This is a gimmick. WiFi is useful, as for charging, well.. I’ve never seen anyone use the plugs on the equipped buses Arriva run in Kent. I did briefly on a C1 a while ago, and found it barely actually charged the device, more kept it stable. Most smartphones these days are capable of fast charging, those USB ports do the opposite, charge your phone at a snails pace, and if you use the phone whilst charging it will keep a constant level of charge or it will slowly decrease. USB ports are a gimmic until you get more current!

Part 6 : Vehicle Pricing 20 number of Vehicles £514,000 per Vehicle Plus £28,509 per vehicle for London Spec (including £4,723 Bus Safety Standard as agreed at BAFO) £52,000 for delivery to London of all 20 buses payable per bus on delivery. Part 6, schedule 4 (PDF page 32 / doc page 187) shows what the planned delivery schedule should have been. First vehicle should have been delivered to Perivale w/c 20th Jan. 2020 with start of phased route conversion from 2nd March 2020 The contract includes the associated facilities, presumably the fuel plant at the garage. No, their was a separate tender for the supply of refuelling facilities.

Of course when they've just been introduced on a route they won't see much usage, but now they've been on the 521 for the best part of three years they see good usage. I'm sure over time more will clock on to the idea and use the charging points, although their ineffectiveness is a glaring shame. I don't see them much being used on the 209/378 but to be honest by the time you get your charger out and connected to the USB point it will be time to get off the bus 😁

I don't see them much being used on the 209/378 but to be honest by the time you get your charger out and connected to the USB point it will be time to get off the bus 😁 My sentiments exactly regarding those two routes, in particular the 209 which is just 10 or 11 stops long depending on the direction you’re travelling. There’s honestly just no point lol

Have to do a couple of rounders on the bus to completely charge it if the driver gives you funny looks whilst you wait for him on the stand, just say you're charging your phone It's just a TfL gimmick rather than quality service or better seating in the Provinces. I'm sure stop start systems on buses don't help when it comes to charging ports either, or it's a really low charge like 1.5 Amp at the socket
