Depends if you mean just the period since tendering first began or before that in the formation of London Transport. In the tendering years, these are a few examples I can think off: 173 has been at DX since 1987 before being lost at this week’s tender results 142 was at GR between 1986 and 2018 before it was lost 340 was also at GR between 1991-2018 before being transferred to AD due to GR closure 182 has been at HD since 1990 H11 has been at SO since 1990 Before the start of tendering, you have the 16 which has been an uninterrupted W route since LT was created in the 30s although it had joint allocations with AE and GM during that time Another example is route 8 with its BW allocation continuing for decades. Route 8 has had a BW allocation since 4th August 1959 - that was the date that the 661 and 663 trolleybuses were withdrawn, CORRECTION: since 11th November 1959, three months after the 661 and 663 trolleybuses had been withdrawn and BW had become a bus garage, enabling the closure of nearby Clay Hall (CL). The opening of the Central Line to Epping/Hainault, the Shenfield electrification and the disastrous seven-week bus strike of the previous year (which only managed to convince many Londoners that they could manage perfectly well without buses) had seriously reduced demand for bus travel along that corridor. The site of Clay Hall Garage has since disappeared under what is now the A12 Blackwall Tunnel Northern Approach - I believe it was in the vicinity of Blondin Street.

This month's TLB reports that some VMHs on route 134 are earmarked for route 139. So, route 139 could use existing VMHs topped up with new ones. I notice that, whereas ex-First E200s are being replaced by indigenous examples, ex-First E400s are mainly staying put with indigenous ones withdrawn instead. possible those 10 that will be left once the 90's gets its full conversion.

Of these remaining VMHs at PB, some should be moving to PA to complete the 90's allocation, with the rest staying at PB for the 317. Even if the 317's get diverted to the 139, there will only be about 7 vehicles available. I think VWHs might be a better vehicle choice as there will be a lot more available in the fleet from various garages, also with the possibility of using the 7's batch depending on when the Hydrogen Streetdecks enter service. Ideally though, I think the 139 should have been awarded with new electrics alongside the 23 in the same tranche, and the 94 which also serves the West End.

Interesting... this would make Baker Sttreet/Park Road section VMHs only, with the 13, 113, 139 and 274 all using Volvo Evosetis So long as we ignore the 189's LTs. In general I ignore LTs as far as possible anyway

It's a good little book that, I managed to pick up a copy at a PB open day a few years ago.

There has never been any further confirmation that the 317 will convert to VMH’s AFAIK. Something tells me the recently transferred in TE’s are for the 317 as well as finishing off the 231 with younger, compliant buses (tender stated a mix of Euro IV & V buses)

Yes it is a pity that route 139 with its change of operator is missing out on electric buses, while route 23 staying put is gaining them.

Well that’s thrown down the gauntlet to get the OMEs in service. If it’s not sorted in time they’ll have a new route (well new in terms of a route they’ve one but you know what I mean) with nothing to run it with.

There is only 11 OME's left to enter service whilst the 139's new contract doesn't start until August - recently, the rate of OME's entering service have began to pick up a bit so I suspect it should be done by end of February the latest.

Besides, has the Copyright rule about not sharing TLB information on internet sites been relaxed of late or did you receive permission from the Editor?
