It’s been reported that the near side camera casing of EH343 has been knocked off exposing the internal wiring but the camera itself is still working normally Wow how does one manage to hit the camera.

There has been an ongoing issue as of late where the cameras have been hitting low trees and have damaged them as a result.

I really reckon that before these cameras became part of production batch specs TfL should have planned a demonstrator in use for a good period of time, or even have had some existing buses within firms retrofitted. Perhaps then issues such as the above would have been anticipated.

There was nothing wrong what was on the buses before Perhaps clapping someone upside the head if you pull into a stop too sharply or suddenly (this happened to me with a 349 DLA) but fragile cameras, and crazy London traffic (and possible vandalism) makes this an expensive project. Can they fit some sort of deflector bar in front of the shielding for the camera, or put them in some sort of metal reinforced housing?

However, buses with mirrors could have hit the same low trees and been damaged And are likely cheaper and easier to replace, especially where the engineer could come out to the bus and fix it there and then...as supposed to possible faults with the camera where the bus may even then have to be towed back.

Following the loss of routes 202 and 405, I think this may answer the question of where the six extra buses for the 127's PVR increase for its new contract will come from. Either six WHV's released from the 202 or four WHV's and WVL509/WVL510 could be used to replace E45-48/50 and WVL238/239

The only work that needs to be done on the WHV's is a refurbishment.

I don’t think it’d be wild to say the 127 may get a fully WHV allocation even though they have started refurbishments on the E400s, they could be used elswhere.

Even if some of the WHVs are used for the 127, then there are other routes which GAL could use them on a bid for. Both 57 and 213 jump out at me as candidates for WHVs on the tender programme

TFL perm changes suggest new route 718 will come into play from 30th Nov 2019 whilst routes 280 & 118 are on diversion. Guessing this bus route will be operated by GAL?

According to the GOV site, all of the 364s MMCs are now taxed. Hopefully they'll be in service soon.

The 280 is currentlly serving Wandle Road as the replacement for the 118 so why introduce an additional route that will only serve a very small market. Waste of money really when a couple of extra peak hour shorts on both the 118 and 280 would be more useful.
