According to information on another side (Stephen Knight Media) 4 Wright Eclipse bodies Volvo single deckers are in the process of moving down to the capital from East Yorkshire.
Any idea on their intended use?

Any idea on their intended use? I have seen reports 2 54-plate examples are transfering to the private hire section ... So maybe there are more.

The four mentioned were all 54 plate vehicles, ex East Yorkshire 338-341 so it seems likely. I would have thought they were a bit long in the tooth at 15 years old though

Why was the 476 cut between Kings Cross & Euston when it's only 2 stops?

Why was the 476 cut between Kings Cross & Euston when it's only 2 stops? Anything to save money. I believe it was lightly used and even though it’s only 2 stops, it is a nightmare and time consuming to get between the two. It appears a massive 7 buses was cut to the PVR with this change although I assume some of it was due a frequency cut as well.

Why was the 476 cut between Kings Cross & Euston when it's only 2 stops? It's probably down TFL's reasoning of there being 'sufficient' capacity between Euston and King's Cross, if this was the case then reducing capacity along there is negligible due to the distance in between being so short. Although the 476 assisted the 73 to and from Euston, the former pretty much duplicated most of the latter's routing, leaving only the stretch to Oxford Circus for the 73 to traverse. Even after the change there is still a generous overlap, so something more radical could have been done in this regard. TFL could have looked at merging the 73 and 476, but this probably wouldn't be a good idea as the resulting route would require an astronomically large PVR. To give the 73 more of a 'sole purpose' outside the overlap it could be extended to Notting Hill Gate, assisting the 94 in the process. Having said that if you take into account the busy nature of the 73/476 then the overlap is irrelevant.

Yes, quite a substantial frequency cut from x8 mins (x6 mins with-the-flow in the peaks) to x10 mins (without peak extras).

Why was the 476 cut between Kings Cross & Euston when it's only 2 stops? I don't think the 476 was any great loss as the the 73 is more than adequate but I'd be more concerned about the 59 being curtailed at Euston meaning that there is no longer a direct link between Waterloo and King's Cross by bus or tube.

Not a direct link but Northern and Victoria lines would be much quicker than bus. I wonder how many people would travel by bus from those two points I imagine its a slow journey!

Depends if they get on the tube and go the wrong way done it many times as it’s so easily done, as travelling from Euston to Kings Cross you get on the NORTHbound Victoria Line or the SOUTHbound Northern Line despite doing the same journey. I constantly got caught out and mixed the two up when I’ve had to change Mainline trains from the two when I was at uni. EDIT: Until I reread it I thought you were talking about Euston and KGX rather than KGX and Waterloo lol as we were talking about the 476’s curtailment.
