The 04reg arriva bendies are horrid they are battered and dull, many of them feel like they are going to fall apart the 55reg are much better and when they go from the 38 they should be used to replace 47 of the worst 04reg ones.

I think the bendies will still be running on the 30th may as theres no sign of the new citaro rigids yet!! Will the new Citaros enter service in stages (like the DOEs replacing EVLs in stages)....or will there be a company start date for a full conversion all at once?

That's an interesting question and one I'd like to know too. I can't see these rigid single-deckers operating alongside bendies on the same Red Arrow routes on an enhanced frequency; not sure TfL would allow that, in which case it would be a full conversion when the day comes. Then again if it is to be a full conversion where are the rigid Citaros going to be stored prior to entering service (as there's so many of them) ??

As the bendies have a lower frequency and lower pvr you can't operate a mixed fleet on one route. I guess it will be the opposite of when they were introduced, all in one go for a specific route. (Of course one RA route could change a few weeks ahead of other one) The other question is easy, there are plenty of places to store them in outer London, remember how withdrawn routemasters were parked at Tolworth for months. Basically you just need a secure compound away from estates full of yobs who throw stones etc.

What about Mandela Way? That site stored up many 'route 12' routemasters after the route was converted to bendies. Having said that, the 133 allocation wasn't there at the time.

Isn't that the case with all bendies in London, that they're not owned by the operating company but leased instead? (not necessarily from the same leasor)

Was on a Merton SE on the 200 today and the red harsh braking light kept coming on randomly as the bus drove along the road at speed... I hope drivers dont get in trouble over silly errors like this
