Unless TfL ever decide to allow tri-axles on normal London services, I doubt that will happen for a while yet. I hope it does one day though. Nice i look foward to seeing it in london at somepoint ;D

The Enviro 500 is a lovely bus. I was very lucky to have rode one in Dublin (they have a batch allocated to the 46 and its suffix routes). Very comfortable and quick too though the difference between First's ones and Dublin Bus ones is that First's ones are Tridents whereas Dublins are B9TLs, I think from 2005-06.

Slightly less I should think. They do have a higher capacity than artics on average do they not? (I'm not taking that ridiculous 140-odd crush-loading figure on artics into account : I would say Enviro500s (and other tri-axle models) would be a better compromise instead of having artics unsuitable for London's streets or a huge number of conventional 2-axle double-deckers (and, going on the forthcoming conversion of the 38, there would be more of the latter than there was artics previously just to ensure no capacity is lost). Tri-axles have already operated on sightseeing tours in Central London for ages so they should have no problem there. Whether I'd be able to say the same for the outer suburbs that's another matter. This is the sort of bus i want to see on the bendy bus routes when the bendies go. In my opinion it would make sense. yes but how many enviro 500's will it take to transport the same amount of people as a artic??
