I also wonder why some of the grab poles are in 'Victoria Line Blue' whilst others are in 'Piccadilly Line Blue'? If you had notice the door handle rails, or shall I say the ones near the doors are bright blue colour. and the rest are dark blue. 1973 Stock ones are as you say dark blue but are in sequence with yellow bars.

I did, I thought the term 'grab poles' covered all, but apprarently not If the aim is to have different colours for different uses - as you say to indicate an exit or some such (again as you mention yellow poles is a contrast against the Piccadilly blue), then the use of two shades of blue is a bit silly to use?

The 'Piccadilly' Blue ones are in fact 'corporate' Blue. DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) and RVAR (Rail Vehicle Accessibility Regulations) require that two shades are used but do not specify which colours are to be used, so the Victoria line Blue was chosen to go with the corporate Blue. There is a method to what is used where but I'm buggered if I remember how it goes now. The two shades where tested by partially sighted people when the mock up was in the big White tent at Euston and where found to work well apparently. All of that is what I recall the LU manager responsible for their design and introduction telling me - it may not be gospel but that's how I remember it.... EDIT: something is nagging away in the back of my mind about contrast being more import than actual colour

The 2009 stock must be working fine now, as today when coming back to London i saw the a driving cab of a 67 stock tube train being halled up the M40 past High Wycombe on the back of a low loader, holding the traffic up.

Enjoy the 67 stock whilst you can.
The control system for the 67 stock will be decommissioned between Walthamstow and Sev. sisters in May (meaning only 2009 stock can run).
Full 2009 stock operation over the whole line is scheduled for July 2011 (when the 67 stock contol system will be finally switched off).

I certainly am, yesterday I managed to ride 3003/3062 from Stockwell to Highbury and was nice to see that the train which was behind, was also a 67TS! Made sure I got a photo of both for posterity too (also the Victoria line I got back was a 67 again, maybe I'm just lucky!)

Only boarded my first in-service '09TS in November last year and since then whenever I've had the need to use the Vic they're pretty much all I've used. Though saying that the last time I used the Vic (beginning of this month?) a 67TS turned up.
Second favourite tube stock of all time (after the '59TS), I will miss the 67's; they've served the line well. Though I still find the 09's pleasant enough.

I used the Vic on Thursday, let one Brixton train go through which was a 67TS, then for another 67TS to show up!! Haven't got a single 09TS since they were introduced

I didn't go on this tour myself as unfortunately I was too late in trying to get tickets So instead I hunted it down at a couple of locations instead ;D From all I saw though, it seems that everyone involved, including staff had a great day out. Here are my videos, www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtvoUL6B920 - At Ickenham Station, heading for Acton on trip from Uxbridge (about 1pm) www.youtube.com/watch?v=vN3MVgb5zUc - arriving at Seven Sisters at end of trip, just after 4pm. www.youtube.com/watch?v=iA55wnyxmgk - departing Seven Sisters returning to depot, was nice to see the horn being sounded as a parting farewell The train which done the tour (units 3071 & 3133 have now been withdrawn and are being sent to Booths (via Acton) for scrap tomorrow morning. Nine 1967-stock trains remain in service, compared to roughly 35 2009-stock's. Luckily for me though, the train which I caught after was a 67TS - www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1NdEm1nisU

I travelled in Car 7 (4133) Steve, in your Video www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtvoUL6B920 at 31secs you can see me! (sitting to the right of first double doors, looking straight at you!) There was plenty of empty seats in my Carriage throughout the whole tour, there was 6 going spare going in the section I was sitting in, which was a shame for the likes of yourself and others. As you said it was a very enjoyable day! I think the highlight for me was standing in 3071's cab and playing the "This is a Victoria Line train to Walthamstow Central" audible announcement at Uxbridge, I'd of loved to of seen fellow passengers reactions upon hearing that! I took plenty of photo's/video's of which I'll try to upload when I've got some spare time.

I took plenty of photo's/video's of which I'll try to upload when I've got some spare time. I intended to go up to Uxbridge first to photograph the train there, but wasn't able to, probably thanks to the slowest journey ever on the Picadilly line between Picadilly Circus and Ickenham! It would have been nice to photo 'A' Stock and 1967 Stocks together, or even 67TS & S Stock, but I don't think any new S Stocks were in service yesterday. I must admit though, I was suprised how many enthusiasts I saw waiting at all the stations between Rayners Lane and Ickenham!! I wanted to find a quiet station lol but made do with Ickenham as it was quite a nice setting to film. It was funny at Acton Town when the train arrived and doors opened.... but the platform was too short so passengers from 3071 had to move up a bit lol - flic.kr/p/9Je7A3 . The tickets sold out quite quick from what I remember, but I certainly was impressed by what I saw, and will make sure I'm on the farewell tour for the A Stocks, whenever that is!

Only a week to go until the Victoria Line will be completely operated by 2009 Tube Stocks. The official last day for operation by 1967TS on the line will be next Thursday (30th June 2011), where the train will work five round trips between Seven Sisters and Brixton, leaving Northumberland Park Depot at 15:42hrs and the final trip being the 19:01hrs trip from Brixton, arriving at Seven Sisters platform 4 at 19:32. (Details provided on District Dave's London Underground forum by '21146' with thanks). Until then, (hopefully!), the 67TS will continue to appear on the weekday peak hours journeys between Brixton and Seven Sisters (67TS are now unable to go north of Seven Sisters) that they have been restricted to since the beginning of June - anyone who is interested in the timings of these workings where the 67TS have been appearing on, feel free to drop me a PM www.flickr.com/photos/steve09photos/5863913949/ - 1967 Tube Stock 3061/3160 at Pimlico today.
