The S stock has made it onto the Uxbridge branch, I saw it parked up in the middle bay at Uxbridge at approx 14.00.
There could of been a nasty incident at Preston Road earlier. My train was told to wait at Northwick Park briefly whilst an obstruction was removed from the track (at Preston Road) We eventually pulled into Preston Road and there was a pretty hefty tree branch strewn across the southbound fast track!

I've spotted an S Stock train at Wembley Park doing a semi-fast service to Watford at around 1:30. It started to pull away from platform 1 just when I was sprinting across the footbridge from platform 2, if only that idiot didn't get in my way when I was just about to board an earlier Uxbridge train at KXSP... Otherwise, I would've caught it. Sorry to bump this thread BTW.

When I first heard about the A-stock being withdrawn, I was annoyed. But, I don't think we would get anywhere if nothing was updated. Sure, it would be nice if they kept the A-stock, but as they get older the will probably get a lot more expensive to maintain. They a pretty old, especially if they are as old as my parents! From the outside, the new stock looks good, but I really hope the interior doesn't have facing seats like the publicity photos showed. Its a very long line, so it would make sense to have seats like main line trains. The Met is very different from the other Underground lines, so I hope TfL take this into consideration. I have long given up trying to understand safety regulations on puvblic tranport. Side facing seats are not allowed on new non Urban buses servies on safety grounds yet it seems on trains its ok. Quite what the logic is behind that beats me.

londonist.com/2011/01/a-metropolitan-line-train-is-taken-away-for-scrapping.phpI've been using the Metropolitan Line quite a bit recently, between Baker Street and Harrow or Moor Park, and all times I've had an A stock but I've noticed that quite alot of the Watford stopping services are now operated by S stock. The trains I get are usually for either Amersham or Chesham, as these services go into zone 9, maybe they deserve a little bit more comfort with the A stock whilst they are still around oh, and apologies for the bump I like the A stock too, very comfortable trains, interesting sounds, even though the ride can be very bumpy lol!

Its sad to see them being withdrawn, but I suppose we are lucky that they lasted so long. I think there will still be plenty of chances to ride the A-stock this year (there are still more A-stocks than S-stocks), but I would like to know the date that the Met will be 100% S-stock, but I don't think this has been confirmed as of yet.

Indeed - we have unit 5092/3 at the moment. A stocks have been visiting Upminster regularly since late last year, with one in the depot almost all the time time now. They come for a go on the wheel lathe and are swapped over during engineering hours.

Well having read about the Metropolitan Line upgrade page on the TFL website, it states all new trains would be in use by late 2011 The date of "all new trains in service" appears to have been delayed by a year, as the link below says that all S Stocks on the Metropolitan will be in service by the end of 2012, I don't think the line has recieved a new train since the latter part of last year! There are still 50-odd A Stock trains still in service www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/corporate/tube_upgrade_plan_timeline.pdfThis afternoon there was alot of confusion on my train, had to get to Moor Park, so boarded an all Stations Watford train at Baker Street (which was one of the few S Stock's), but at Preston Road the driver announced it would be going to Uxbridge instead of Watford, and said a Watford train is right behind the train. So most people inc me got of to change, and then an A Stock turned up showing Watford, which I got on, but must have been meant to have been going to Uxbridge as thats what a few of the passengers on that train were saying. I don't think the driver of this train announced the change of destination (from Uxbridge to Watford), the passengers didn't look happy when they alighted at Pinner after finally finding out it wasn't going to Uxbridge ;D Thought it was strange though!

Was on the S Stock today and had 21017.. It had a few problems with the Doors and with the DVA system at Harrow-on-the-Hill. The DVA System announced it was a Circle Line train via Liverpool Street when at Harrow-on-the-Hill, then said these previous stations.. Barking, East Ham, Aldgate & Liverpool Street plus the destination of this train has changed & this train is held here due to a red signal. The one that baffled me the most was East Ham as the Circle Line goes no were near it only the Hammersmith & City Line, i'm sure this needs updated.
