Ever had your journey interrupted by a stray horse? This just happened near Feltham: PS. Good job to H&D(?) on the X26 refurbs - now if only all buses had USB sockets

I think the traffic conditions in E17 are getting to the bus drivers. This afternoon's antics while making some simple local trips. Pop up the road on the 123 to change to a W11/W15. I see that 2 W11s are due and sure enough I step off the 123 and the W11s are by the Fire Stn. First one turns into Forest Rd, I stick my hand out and it drives straight past with the driver laughing. I then have to wave even more madly to get the second one to stop. The driver on the second bus then makes some sort of jokey comment when I remarked that his colleague didn't stop "perhaps he didn't see you?" I am about the least invisible person going given my bulk. I was not impressed. On way home go to get a 275 on Selborne Rd. Traffic, as usual, is dreadful. Queue of buses with a 212 taking on a lot of pax then a W15 then the 275. W15 pulls in and 275 moves to drive past! Thankfully the 212 pulled off so more frantic arm waving and dashing as the 275 driver eventually decides to pull in. There were two other people who wanted the bus who were not impressed with this nonsense. As we go round the bus station the driver barely stops for the pedestrian crossing and nearly bumps into 2 people who were crossing. By this point I'd guessed the driver was probably due a relief at the next stop and yep it's driver change time. While I know people want to get off duty on time that doesn't justify such ridiculous driving. As the relief driver was getting in the cab a waiting passenger knocked on the door. The driver mumbled something about having to wait and then proceeded to take ages to set up the ETM, get his paperwork done, put the cap back on his pen etc etc. I thought drivers had all been sent on courses to drive safely and be courteous to passengers? A few are seriously lacking the right attitude based on my experiences within a hour or so this afternoon.

At Chislehurst Pond Geese can end up crossing the road and nothing you can do except let them all cross.

I see someone else has been knocked down by a bus in Oxford Street today, more or less at the same place as comadad had his accident. Main headline on BBC London.

Although I had to laugh at when you said the driver went past you laughing, sounds like something from a comedy sketch. Drivers have been on these so called courses, but as usual they are just a tick box exercise, then a few days or weeks after, it is back to square one.

When did they introduce the "This bus is about to move..." announcement? In almost every case the bus was already moving when the announcement was played making it pointless. Another example of the "nanny state" and excessive automated announcements. I imagine this came about because someone fell over and TFL's lawyers have recommended that they play this message to prevent lawsuits.
