What a load of nonsense, might as well as employee a load of people with red flags to walk in front of the traffic. Running times will no doubt increase as it has happened on many routes that travel through 20mph zones. Running times increase, frequencies decrease, remaining passengers with sense, a life to lead or job to go to desert it. How long before the 11 is a max 5 bph route:unbelievable?

Possibly.
I am just somewhat upset because I was avoiding drinking water to stay hydrated in this already humid weather in the morning, and then still need in use of toilet and then there is no toilet, and next toilet is 1.5 hours away and on my way back I was already dying for toilet again, so best decision I ever made. Thanks TFL for providing drivers with toilets...I am a dude ok, what if it's a woman driver? We're literally messing with our health...sure if I called controller he could have shipped me light to garage or whatever but in reality no driver will be desperate enough to make a call like that.
I avoid drinking too much as the route i drive can take up to 1.5 - 2 hours in the peaks. A couple of weeks ago i stopped at Penge Sainsburys to use the toilet i told the passengers and someone said are you even allowed to go to the toilet mid route? then they told me to hurry up. Lets say i took my time! Legend. Yeah and some 356 drivers use McDonalds toilet at sainsburys mid-route if desperate for toilet, especially since there is a stand right outside of Mcdonalds where buses terminate.

A McDonalds toilet at Sainsbury’s lol? Yeah sounds weird for someone who doesn't perhaps know the route lol, but I shoulda said at saver-center or bell green.

Not so much of an issue when BV existed on the 180 quote author="@mhv85" source="/post/513793/thread" timestamp="1563465295"] Possibly.

Just call up. They have to facilitate an en route toilet relief if requested. On the route I drive, there are only toilets on one end of the route, and it can be up to 3 hours for a rounder. I myself have been caught short a few times and have requested a toilet break at Abbey Wood. A lot of my colleagues tend to pee in a bottle or on the back wheel. I know one (female) who carries around a special bottle with her for such eventualities. I think the official stance is request an en route relief as someone told me you can be sacked for peeing on the wheel or in a bottle etc.[/quote]

Even though that brand didn't last that long, it has stuck forever! This was back when the 352 covered the Upper Sydenham section.

I am one of the minority who happen to follow the 20mph limit (even though its difficult). Must confess I get regularly honked at in the isle of dogs as no one else seems to be following it... It's more dangerous following it than not I've worked out, especially in the Greenwich and Lewisham areas as cars will just overtake you when they get a chance, even if it means it's around a bend and we all know what that could lead to. The trouble is that people only follow traffic rules if a camera is around. Quite pathetic to see people slowing down to exactly the speed limit if there’s a camera and then go whoosh the moment the camera is gone. A bigger pet peeve than the 20 in the isle of dogs si the 30mph on the A13 westbound near Canning Town. Some follow it, some don’t and you get the odd idiot who does 50+ there.

Lewisham/Greenwhich area it's a big issue, especially come Friday/Saturday all the boy racers come to the streets and have no patience for buses. Look, I get it myself, I wouldn't wanna be stuck behind the chunky bus at 20mph on a quiet wide road. Just other week bus driver was in an accident on a blind bend due to such racer boy, was minor collision and the driver took off as well. I think it's at least unfair for cars to honk at buses, they should at least understand the law and accept that these bus drivers are driving by law, if you want to be an idiot go ahead and pass me but I won't be helping them out when they do something stupid, like try to overtake just before an island, or traffic coming other way and they're too stupid to realize that or see it coming, so in few cases I just didn't lift, or in fact i lifted to sort of take some action but I won't just brake check for them to complete the pass, because if they hit me then it will be the case of oh why did you brake in the middle of the road...but anyways it doesn't really matter, bus drivers nowdays will get blamed for anything by management...9/10 times terms and conditions apply*

Almost saw someone getting hit by WVL344 whilst turning out of Dingwall Road this evening on route X26, someone was stood in front of the bus for some reason (believe they had dropped something on the road) and the driver had to swerve at the very last minute to avoid them. People really don't know how to cross a road properly around Croydon Town Centre though as the amount of incidents and near misses I've seen over the years involving buses is rather ridiculous

I'm sure anyone who's been there can vouch for this Have to feel sorry for the bus drivers there, I wonder how they manage sometimes.

Having lived and spend enough time in Barking, can definitely vouch for this. It’s mental how much people nearly get hit around Station Parade.

TFL are now trialling individual door controls on LT’s. They will remove the readers from all poles, apart from the one in the cab. I believe some of the vehicles from Bow garage are on test. Talk about confusion for passengers!!

Talk about confusion for passengers!! Route 8 converts to boarding by front door on 9th August, and modified door controls have already been fitted to a number of LTs there. All LT routes will be converted to boarding by front door in the next few months as the door modifications are made. There is no "test". Drivers will continue to open all doors for boarding until 9th August. As said, there is a dedicated thread for discussing this: tangytango.proboards.com/thread/10909/lt-boarding-changes
