I Was Thinking About This Today
When A Bus Is On Diversion, The Annoucment " This Bus Is On Diversion,Please Listen For Futher Annoucments Is Played
But The Question Is What Are The Futher Annoucments
Should The Driver Be Playing Something Else Or Does It Simple Mean The Next Road Annocment When the Bus Is Back On Route ?
I Think That If It Is A Longer Term Diversion It Should Be INstalled To Say The Next Stop Will Be ...
Does Anyone Know ?

Ive been on a bus that has been diverted and heard nothing what so ever except that announcement.
Ive been on a bus where its destination has changed and the iBus played 'The destination of this bus has changed please listen out for further announcements' a couple times nothing is mentioned after but i had 1 driver who spoke on a microphone informing us

Think the general idea is that drivers are being encouraged to use the PA system more. I believe that some recent diversions have been looked at to see what information was given out. Bear in mind there is lots of scope for ibus to develop its only days yet and an education for all concerned.

I don't use the diversion announcement I just stop at the previous stop before the diversion and tell the passengers myself because people ignore the ibus announcments and I can't be arsed to deal with people asking me (which every passenger feels the need to do individually dispite the fact they were all standing around and heard me tell the person standing in front of them) whats going on as I drive

Think the general idea is that drivers are being encouraged to use the PA system more. I think that its working, noticed alot more drivers using it now, like this morning on the 496 the announcement on the ibus didnt make the people upstairs sit down but asson as the driver used the PA system to say you either sit down now or get off now, they soon did ;D ;D

Longer term diversions are programmed into ibus, like the recent sidcup diversion (which was only removed on the last ibus update). I think the announcements are indeed to encourage use of the PA, some drivers dont like using the PA's though, personally i have no problem as i have done disco's and Live PA's for many years so to me it practically comes naturally.

When there was gas works going on in Lee High Road back in the summer, there was a particular driver on the 321 who always used the PA to say "Okay Ladies and Gentlemen, due to gas works, the next stop is closed, I repeat due to gas works, we will not be stopping at Manor Park, Brandram Road will be the next stop!" then later on in the journey around Eltham Green there were several elderly people getting on, and the driver said to passengers sitting downstairs "Please respect your fellow passengers, and give up your seats to the old ladies who have just got on! Plenty of seats available upstairs if you still want to sit down!" ;D Once I was on the 233 (before iBus was installed), and there was a miserable woman driving it, at one of the stops, some chavvy teenagers got on and started playing their music out loud "Bang some tunes out innit bruv?" The driver came onto the microphone to shout "TURN IT DOWN!!!!", but there was a huge amount of feedback so all we could hear was a massive "SQUEEEEEEEEEEAL...TURN IT DOWNNNNNNN!", making everyone have to hold their ears!
