Kowloon Motor Bus and Citybus (of Hong Kong) have taken delivery of one Enviro400 each, apparently for evaluation. Both feature revisions to the original E400 design, including a different front profile, different side windows and a completely different rear (to accomodate the air conditioning). The result is that they bear a closer resemblance to the older sister E500 design (other than the lower front). More here: www.orientalmodelbuses.co.uk/Xtra/HK-CTB-Enviro400.htm

I like that look ... I feel the current one is badly let down by its upper deck. Wonder if we will see similar models in the UK? One of the operators has removed the tree deflectors, and again a massive improvement in appearance ... well in my eyes www.orientalmodelbuses.co.uk/Xtra/HK-KMB-Enviro400.htmKowloon Motor Bus and Citybus (of Hong Kong) have taken delivery of one Enviro400 each, apparently for evaluation. They look splendid! I'd better look out for one of those when I touch down in HK in a few days time.

I hate the new style e400 as the front upper deck is less rounded at the front. The new headlights arent as good looking as the older type but i can live with the front bumper change.

The normal style of Enviro 400 is much more appealing and I'd rather have the tree deflectors on as they look nice but I wouldn't want any trees smashing the front in.

Must admit, i'm not 100% on them myself. Don't like the front bumper, it looks pretty odd, though the upper deck roof line looks quite smart. Looks more Alexander like ;D

Managed to find a video showing the ugly back of them I don't think it looks that bad but isn't that the same rear as the Enviro 500? Just having a guess here but maybe the rear of these Enviro 400 buses were modified at the request of KMB and Citybus to match the Enviro 500 design which is quite popular over there. Of course, I could be wrong. The UK demonstrator version which appeared in this years Bus and Coach Live did not have that rear design feature from an Enviro 500, but it did have the same revised front. We should be able to see how it looks over here when the next batch of Enviro 400's for Arriva are to be delivered for the 133 - hopefully sometime next month.

I don't see what's wrong with the back of them to be honest, just looks like an Enviro500 to me. It would have been necessary to revise the rear design in order to accomodate the air conditioning fans. Also that UK one you linked to is not the same as the Hong Kong versions. Other than the front bumpers and the headlights that bus is still based on the UK design. (I don't really count the bonded glazing as that could be specified with the UK design too) I don't think it looks that bad but isn't that the same rear as the Enviro 500? Just having a guess here but maybe the rear of these Enviro 400 buses were modified at the request of KMB and Citybus to match the Enviro 500 design which is quite popular over there. Of course, I could be wrong. Maybe, or perhaps (as I mentioned above) the bus needed to conform to KMB/Citybus' specs (with their features included) and the rear had to be modified for the Hong Kong market as a result? The UK demonstrator version which appeared in this years Bus and Coach Live did not have that rear design feature from an Enviro 500, but it did have the same revised front. We should be able to see how it looks over here when the next batch of Enviro 400's for Arriva are to be delivered for the 133 - hopefully sometime next month. Will indeed be interesting to see what the 133 Enviros look like, though the cynic in me says they'll look the same as existing UK E400s. Of course we will have to wait and see. Isn't the 133 starting off with existing buses from elsewhere within the Arriva fleet though? As TfL annouced the award of the route far too late for any new bus orders to be made and completed in time. Edit: saw a post from Moz, apparently a couple are already here...

On the yellow red and blue one the front looks horrid, the gold one however looks fantastic, the upper deck front window it looks better than the original too and the rear of them not so bad but I still prefer the original.

Actually......i love that rear ;D Looks very smart if you ask me. I also like the modified bumpers on the UK version too. Insert, any chance of updating your E400/E200 nets with them? Maybe we could see some of those E200's on the 66? ;D
