I expect they will go to Ash Grove first for inspection and prep first. I suspect only 1 or 2 will go to AW for route learning and mechanical familiarisation with the remainder turning up very close to the day they take over from GAL.

I think it could make more sense to operate it from HK to share a common DD fleet with the 26/388. The W13 serves very similar areas to the 20, and has been run from HK for a while - though the W13 would need to move to AW in exchange to make space (though would require the DD working to remain at HK).

LOTS have reported that it will run from AW. I can see your point but it is almost certainly cheaper to run it from AW - short garage runs to WW Central and up the A406/M11 to Debden. We shall see how allocations and vehicles pan out in due course.

I would suggest to operate both the 20 and W13 from AW as a result, and instead move the W19 to HK to make space. The Argall Avenue terminus near Lea Bridge Station is not too far from the Hackney area.

There was an option on the last contract for such an extension but TfL did not take it up (I got this via a FOI request). Waltham Forest Council have built a bicycle store on the land that was previously earmarked for a bus turning circle (was shown on original plans for the station). That says it all really.

I had a provisional itin last July involving using Lea Bridge station and walking to route W19. In the event I used the route in Ilford instead, and rode a class 317 from Enfield Lock to Stratford via Lea Bridge.
