I cant wait for a time where there is such a thing as equality. This positive discrimination is bullshit! If a white male is discriminated against, this should be treated the same as an asian woman! It seems to be ok to be sexist and racist towards white males these days. I just think the government and businesses should just think of people's personalities and skills rather than colour of skin or gender. *rant over* ;D

It's racism. Doesn't matter how you try to cover it up, it's still racism. As far as i know, it was illegal to say that you are being denied a job opportunity based upon your race or sex. Not saying that you can't just decide not to employ someone because of those things, but you can't outwardly say, no, you're ****, you're not getting the job

Oh i know, just highlighting it still isn't right ;D What suprises me though, is that white people seem to forget that they can be victims of racism just as much as black or asians. My mate at uni said he thought i'd be crap at football because i was white If that was someone i didn't know, i could technically have said it was a racist comment, yet because i'm white, i wouldn't have thought it!!

I love ct plus generally excellent service etc only complaints about them is quite a few times 153s are run 5mins earlier than timetable at night e.g a bus is supposed to arrive at the stop outside sainsbury's (towards finsbury park) at 9 06pm it normally turns up at 9 01pm (it happened just now aswel btw) also the x reg caetano's are bull and so uncomfortable, 153 really needs new buses. As for first the do well with the routes i use regularly (the 10 before they lost it 23, 31, 259, 341 and 476, D6) plus other routes the 58 though they should have lost! Arriva38, there is a old saying and rule that you should arrive at the bus stop 5 mins earlier. ;D

Indeed. On one occassion on the N89 I called a black girl back as she just walked past me, when she came back she started ranting and raving and then the old chesnut of it's coz I is black & your racist. Straight away I lost it and said if I was black you wouldn't be saying that so who's the racist one? Her response, I can't be racist I'm black even when the Police arrived and asked her to leave she kept on about it, the copper who was asking her to leave the bus gave her a simple option, get off or get nicked for racist abuse...needless to say she got off ;D John I think your right in that no company can say they are not employing you because of race, gender or sexual prefrence.

I'm certain there's legislation in some discrimination act that states this, but i have no idea which. Would probably be on the DirectGov site somewhere ;D

CT Plus has surprisingly gained 13 of ELBG's old bendies. They're coded as MCA1-13 (ex-23018, 23020, 23007, 23014, 23010, 23017, 23009, 23025, 23026, 23013, 23011, 23016 and 23023). Info from 'Buses' magazine. I wonder what they're gonna be used for?

They can't. I could have sworn that 'bendies' can only be used on routes specified to be used by TFL.

Could be. Seems quite reasonable now you've brought it up.

by the time of the Olympic quite a few artics (routes 18, 25, 38, 149, 507, 521 will defo have been converted plus prob 12, 73) will be spare. Surely these would suit the First contract for transporting Althlete perfectly and save buying loads of buses maybe they could be leased till then.

No this is probably for workers currently on the site. Also, the contract First have is for new vehicles. One part is being sub-contracted to smaller operators in the area, to provide travel for the athletes. Only know this thanks to my cousins firm in Harlow being asked to supply costs for such a job. The other, from what i can tell from recent tender awards, are for the spectators. These vehicles looks as though they will be going onto routes like the 23 after the Olympics

John L.D told me the 23/92/295 will be getting brand new buses in 2012 they will be ordered at the same time as the buses for the olympics contracts will be ordered.
So after the olympics, I do not know where the olympic buses will be going.

Info from 'Buses' magazine. I wonder what they're gonna be used for? At least FIVE ex ELBG Citaro artics have been operating on the Olympic site for ovver 12 months now. These are supplimented aby a number of new Scania single deck rigids. They asre serviced by CT Plus, but I am unaware if they also supply on-site drivers, or whether the owners are CT Plus or the ODA themselves. With the pace of the work at the site growing daily, it is possible they are additional vehicles to the ones already operated. Observation of the pick up/drop off terminus at Pudding Mill Lane will no doubt supply an answer fairly quickly!
