I had the pleasure of travelling on a 1992 stock train on the Central Line from South Ruislip to Perivale, however the train was held due to a fault in the motors.
When I boarded the train, he made an announcement, he said ' Erm sorry passengers for the delay, well, this train is knackered, we hope to keep this train for another hour or so in service'.
I found this really funny due to his lack of formalness and the just his general attitude to the situation.
Anybody else had one of these day when you hear the driver say something funny?

This happens every now and then really. A few months ago I was on the Northern line and my train arrived at some station - unable to recall where. Everyone boarded as per usual, then the doors closed - as a bunch of tourists got on. Driver reopens doors, then closes them again. Tourists are STILL stuck in the doors. Repeat process another two times. Finally the driver came on the PA and announced "can I remind passengers that the big red slidey things on the sides of this train are DOORS - please stand well clear of them........." (doors finally close properly) "....... Thank you." Cue everybody in my carriage laughing including myself, and the last tourist who had been caught in the door turning a shade of red similar to the doors they'd just been stuck between

I was in the leading carriage on a Bakerloo as we entered Baker St once and it seemed like every man and woman in the world wanted to get onto our carriage, then the driver came over the PA
"Ladies and Gentlemen, please use the full length of the platform. This train has seven carriages and they're all first class"
I found this funny as it was totally unexpected as I think half my carriage did as there was a few chuckles and smiles.

Often on the southbound Circle between High St Ken and Gloucester Rd, during the interminable waits for clearance, one of the drivers sometimes announces 'we are held here by a very slow moving District line trains ahead' Ironic given how slow the Circle is!
And a Southern conductor on the London Bridge-Uckfield service announcing the stops got to Oxted, Hurst Green, then a pause and a voice in the background saying 'where are we going??'

I had one DLR PSA once who was completely random coming into Canning Town. Wasn't so much what he said, though i can't remember alot of it, but how he said it. Sounded more like a voice over for a T.V programme ;D

I was on a bus once not in London but down in Sandbanks coming back from Swanage on Route 50 from Swanage to Bournemouth via Sandbanks Ferry and we were very very late due to be stuck in the traffic queuing for the ferry, well we were until we hit the toll booths when we used a bus lane (aka the wrong side of the road), however when we got near to Bournemouth down a quite road the driver went "The ferry road is like this in the Winter" over the PA system on the Optare Visionaire most of the bus laughed.
