Apologies if this has been brought up before, but I can't see it mentioned elsewhere...
I jumped on a 380 last night and almost fell out of my seat with shock when Emma announced I was on the "three-eight-oh, to Lewisham Shopping Centre" - it's usually the more common "three-eighty".
I remember when iBus was first introduced getting on a "two-two-oh" in Shepherd's Bush, but by the time it made it over to south-east London it'd been corrected to a more human-sounding version.
Is this a glitch, or is this the new style for 380/180/320/etc numbers?

Unfortunately this is a glitch that has occured so we are aware. Apologies if this has been brought up before, but I can't see it mentioned elsewhere... Omgsh, I was waitign for someone to bring up this topic on the way she says route numbers personally I think it is so weird. I was on the 230 from wood green to tottenham three days ago and though the ibus was dodgy and kept announcing the wrong stops. the ultimate destination was correct. she was announcing two - three - o to upper walthamstow, wouldnt two - thirty be better. I mean when it comes to the 30 (or numbers under 100) she doesn't say three - o, she says thirty another one i find strange is two - one - four instead of two fourteen and so on.

Apparently, the 211 is also having these symptoms. iBus kept announcing it as 'two-one-one' instead of the usual 'two-eleven'.

For me, it doesn't sound right on the 214 when the iBus pronounces it as 2-14, as I have always pronounced it 2-1-4. It does say it correctly (IMO) on the 167, where it pronounces 1-6-7.

I agree with Alex. I know local people around Romford and Ilford (maybe not Bighat) say routes like the 370 and 150 as 3-7-0 and 1-5-0. It is a silly thing, but I think it's just a personal preference

ah is this the same reason for the 320 being changed to Three Two O? or will it be a permanent announcement

I personally wouldnt say 1 - 67 or 167, I too would say 1 - 6 - 7. regarding the 2 - 14 it is down to preference. I personally pronounce numbers as such 2 - 14, 15, 16, 17 ..... then at 221, i say 2 - 2 - 1 ..... to 2 - 2 - 9 and so on.

Apparently, the 211 is also having these symptoms. iBus kept announcing it as 'two-one-one' instead of the usual 'two-eleven'. Never used the 211 but I would prefer it to say 2-1-1. But if I jumped on a 210 I would prefer it to say 2-10 ;D

These are apparently the Original recordings, the 'three twenty' and so on recordings were made later when it was found that the old ones would probably confuse people.
It would appear that a glitch in a recent ibus update has reverted the numbers back to thier old recordings.
