That's right. Previous vehicles were on the B12M or B12B chassis (12 litre engine). Tri-axle vehicles will use the new B13R chassis but there are no improvements in power over the B12.

The B13R is slightly uprated and from the driving perspective you can certainly feel the difference.

Wow have you driven one? On paper they have either 420 or 460 bhp and i doubt National Express will go for the higher powered option.

They have a 9 litre engine - I believe its the same one used in B9TL buses. Same engine as B9TL's but in the B9R it is mounted sideways? instead of longitudinal as in the b9tl and also is more uprated at 380bhp, where as b9tl is only 260bhp 2 - axle and 310bhp tri - axle.
