Me and some mates from uni are planning something different to celebrate graduating next week (final exam on Monday ;D). The plan is to use the Circle Line, as was, for a bar crawl.
What I want to know is this, I know the PAYG gets capped, but does it get confused if you're constantly in and out of the system??

Review your priorities young man! ;D ;D ;D

From reading things such as District Dave's forum, the London transport usenet group etc, it seems like Oyster can get confused once you start doing enthusiasty-type things with it, such as hanging around on station platforms for a while.
You can hit problems even if you're using it like a normal person. For example, I went from Stratford to Waterloo on the Jubilee line, visited some friends at their work for half an hour and then did Bakerloo line to Baker Street. Oyster in its infinite wisdom decided to combine that into a single journey from Stratford to Baker Street.
I know you're asking a different question, with nipping in and out a lot, so I'm willing to bet it'll get clever at some point and try to combine some of your trips.
If you're concerned about it, go to paper for the day - isn't the day cap the same anyway now as the paper One Day Travelcard price as of January's fare changes?

I might have to see about it now. I did try getting a monthly 1-6 Travelcard, until the guy at uni told me the price Ended up sticking with my usual 3-6 with £20 PAYG as back up. I'm assuming the plan will be to get the DLR from Cyprus to Tower Gateway, go to a bar, and then continue on the Circle Line from there on, so I'm hoping Oyster will cut off after the DLR, and then treat the Circle Line as a simple zone 1 trip.......I hope Bighat, 20% VAT being spent by tax payers money ;D It's ok, I'll start paying it back on April 6th 2011.......if I'm on more than £15k p.a

To do them all you need to start about 10am and do half pints at every stop.
Elsewise you won't get round quick enough!

No it shouldnt, i did this last year and it did not charge me for keep entering and exiting.
Just remember don't get that drunk you forget to touch in and out otherwise the next day you'll have a hangover and a phone call to make to the Oyster helpline. The phone call will probably be worse than the hangover.
