I agree. I've been on packed 371's during the peaks. The odd SP out in the peaks is hardly going to help ease overcrowding. This is not helped by the fact the route mostly uses DEs. The surplus SPs from the 65 could go on to the 371 in the short term but those SPs are bound for EB so really a longer term solution is needed. I hope the new contract specfies either higher capacity single deckers or double deckers A fair number of DLEs also appear on 371 The double decks have a problem, by mid route (Ham or Tudor Drive etc) they can’t keep up with bus in front, so get big gaps and caught up by following single deck. It is not speed or acceleration, it is stop dwell time, stairs just slow the boarding and alighting. It’s why double decks are not a great solution except for those that don’t mind even slower buses TfL reduced the frequency of this route a couple of years ago.

Would DXEs be able to run on the 371?

Would DXEs be able to run on the 371? The turnings into and from Ham Street are tight, but traffic is scarce here and even the DEs need to swing across the road, similar thing tends to happen entering and leaving Marchmont Road. I suspect DXEs would be able to do same, not pass other traffic at junctions No other problems, Richmond is already cleared for 12m buses, and Petersham and Kingston see regular tri axle coaches on private school routes

ADE40301 which had been out of service over 3 months is back on 406+418
wonder if the extra ADH will now depart Epsom (possibly for H12 increased pvr)

Given that the H12's allocation is usually quite strictly MMC ADH, I could see it gaining the 258's 67reg to cover to frequency increase, with the 258 taking the 62reg ADHs instead. This could also simplify allocations if the 258 were to move to RP, giving a common fleet with the 266.

E10 was lost less than a month ago, but the ex-E10 SDEs haven’t had logo changes. Could this suggest that EB might transfer to London United?
I’ll keep an eye out for any changes - EB are normally good at this stuff.

Also just saw ADE40301. Looks to have been reblinded, might suggest it will be staying for a tad longer.

Unless they are due to go for a refurb or repaint or emissions ugrade (2014 saw a mix of euroV and euroVI built, some euro V in 2015 so not sure what their euro rating is)

[EDIT] Just realised what backfire is, I mean the horrible noise. I tend to call it backfire as it reminds me of it!

SP40031 which may be on loan from AV as it retains a Hounslow blindset has had its sovereign logo at the front at least, changed to United since its ‘loan’. ADE40421 at the very least has been running around with Sovereign logos at Hounslow for the best part of 2 years now. I’m pretty sure there’s others in a similar situation.

Also just saw ADE40301. Looks to have been reblinded, might suggest it will be staying for a tad longer. As it is technically allocated to Route 418, that would result in at least another two years

Nothing older than an 09 reg SP has appeared on the 111 for a few days.
Coincidence or for a reason?
