Epsom are getting Scanias, E400s are being refurbished for the 266, they make up the majority of the allocation. I think the plan to give Epsom Scanias has been put on hold for the time being as it should have happened by now, but yes ADE40423 should be going for the 266. I had meant the plan is to give Epsom Scanias in the near future, there certainly aren’t enough E400s to dish out to the 266 and 406. According to LBR, the 65s scanias should be moving but doesn’t specify a date.

FW got VH45310-7, and that should have released SPs for the 406. I know I'm missing something, and that there's something preventing 07 reg ADEs from leaving, but could someone remind me what it is.

This is only half the story, AV could have used the 3 SPs and 15 ADEs from 81 as cover since 81 loss. As I understand it, because all the spare buses are needed from 9 Dec there is a blitz on getting buses upgraded. The ADEs need a refurb (although not all at same date so could easily used some in rotation) The gain of 266 and commencement of 306 requires the 2007 ADEs (until new buses arrive for 94), and easier to keep them at Epsom (rather than store them, then reinstate them). Many of the 406 workings swap at Kingston to a 418 (which wasn't getting new buses).

Both 306 and 391 are then tendered, new 391 contract starts 12/12/20 and 306 new contract presumably same date. So new contract (with whoever wins it) year after route expected to start.

When Imber was on last year it took 24 days for LT1000 to enter service again. This year it's not returned since it being at Imber. Wonder why it takes so long for this bus to re-enter service after the event.

Does Route 18 enter ULEZ? No, only the N18 does.

I had meant the plan is to give Epsom Scanias in the near future, there certainly aren’t enough E400s to dish out to the 266 and 406. According to LBR, the 65s scanias should be moving but doesn’t specify a date. The plan is delayed until early 2020, when a big cascade of double decks is now planned. The spare SPs are currently helping out on 203 and allowing SPs to get euroVI conversions, I believe current plan is : on 7 Dec route 266 is gained using the ADEs from 81, some spare ADHs (from cuts to 94 and E3), plus some others (probably VHs from 635). On same date 306 is expected to start using SPs from 65, 81, 681, 697 and 698 (although probably only euroVI upgraded ones, which in reality will mean swap with another route of something). As the SPs from 65 are needed (directly or indirectly) for 306 can’t go to Epsom short term (strictly they could, then move again in Dec.) However the 2007 ADEs would be needed to be back in service (if not on 406, on new 306) in Dec. Epsom are very familiar with the 2007 ADEs (they have had them 12 years from new), so no advantage in sending them elsewhere for 3 months where they need to learn their quirks. There are 29 new electric buses on order for 94, even if some turn up by Christmas, likely to be converting the 94 in Feb-March. This then allows the big double deck cascade. The ADHs should see off the top up of oddities on 266, with others going to 306. (Have heard differing versions regarding the mix of ADE and ADH between 266+306 so have to wait and see). Also not quite clear if enough ADE+ADH are available for these 2 routes (this has led to speculation about a few VHs in the mix) The VHs from the 94 (and the short term top up for 266) are expected to be moved to 65 to fully convert it. This in turn releases further SPs. As I understand it any unrefurbished SP are going, as are the 2007 ADEs and the 9 early SPs (although these might work on to Easter or school summer holidays). Recently the loss of 285 seems to have confused things, there is plenty of speculation in the tender award thread, but with 10 months to go, no definite info is yet available. I am sure TfL would prefer these to be used if it means it gets out of 18 SP emission upgrades (TfL has to fund the upgrades on buses on existing contract that ends after October 2020). On the other hand it allows RATP to bid for a route without new buses. But of course got to get through 139 tender award first.

You seem to have it all sorted - in reality only a few people know the actual plan, so I guess we’ll just have to wait to see how it pans out. One thing for sure, though, is that the 306 will not be getting SPs. As for what it actually gets, we’ll have to wait and see

Sorry to be pedantic, but the 266's cutback is set to go ahead on 7th December, not the 9th

Plus had the 406 got an extension to its contract it would still be using those ADEs for another 2 years anyways and they are hardly ancient and falling apart so it makes total sense for the 406 to continue another 6 months with them till a large amount of newer buses become spare from the 94 and 285.
I can see the 285's buses being used for a new bid as opposed to just SP replacement if the opportunity for a new win comes up after the loss of the 27, 120, 267 and now 285. Similar to how Stagecoach could have used the ex 208 E400s to oust more Scanias but in reality found it better to win the 128 with them. Directly/indirectly they could be used to try and gain the 23 for example.

Are the 2 VHs originally ordered for the 681 still arriving? They arrived months ago, and they're allocated to the 65 alongside the VHS initially intended for the 406
