Anyone know what the 406 is getting, or has it not been announced? As far as I know the new DD Hybrids are to replace all but 2 07 plate ADEs. Will it be my prediction of Evocetis, or are we getting bog standard MMCs? Nothing announced yet. However the 681 is also due to get 2 new buses and Fulwell already has some VHs, unlikely to be a split order, but 681 buses might be swapped with another route. I think there is also due to be new buses for the Bedfont Lakes shuttle services.

It's not even news. Some bright spark at the local paper has spotted the LSP application and spun it out into an article. In reality it's just an LSP application for a service that has already been operating for many years! I suppose it fills a bit of space in the paper...
Not sure why it's deemed to need an LSP now but there's a similar situation on the Bedfont Lakes services, which used to run without an LSP but will now have one when RATP take over.

There is only a staff shuttle which goes direct via Rose Hill and the A217 whereas this is a proper service via Sutton so I think there is scope for local news here.

But these are staff shuttles. Presumably non staff aren’t allowed on board ?

But these are staff shuttles. Presumably non staff aren’t allowed on board ? It’s described as a shuttle service, not a staff shuttle, and the availability is shown as at any time. Not familiar with exact terminology but doesn’t appear to be a restricted to staff only service, although the proposed timetable describes it as a NHS service. Maybe it is NHS sponsored, but open to all.

The article is little more than a copy-and-paste from the LSP application. This lists the roads traversed (as all LSP applications do) but does not mean that it will actually stop on all of these roads. The timetable that is included in the application does not show any stops in Sutton town centre; it would appear to run non-stop between Sutton Hospital and St Helier Hospital.
Having found a few old timetables online it seems that the service is currently restricted to staff. If the service will indeed be available to the general public when the new contract starts I agree it's newsworthy. Do we know for sure that it will be available to the public?

Only a guess but I suspect it will remain as a staff shuttle - I know the shuttle that runs between Guys & St Thomas’s Hospitals is staff only.

Competition will be high for the 139 with Metroline I would imagine so either an existing (13reg) bus bid or newer buses possibly from SP replacements used to keep costs down. Operators can submit more than one bid as I understand matters, so RATP could easily submit a bid with existing buses, another with new hybrids, and another with electrics.....then TfLs choice.
Same applies to Metroline (or any other operator). Do Metroline have space for the 139 at W, or would they have to re-shuffle I wonder.

Exactly right, I think TfL set the possible options on which they’ll consider (so cost for an existing bid, cos for new bid, cost if a route is proposed to be DD, cost depending on various timetable/route changes they’re considering) and then choose which one to go with. As I understand it TfL specified a bid for the 244 with both single and double deckers, and new and existing options for both. Can’t remember who said but someone got hold of the tendering options for the 428, and they only specified DDs for the next contract for some reason.

Metroline will need to some re-shuffling at W to fit the 139 in. Moving the 332 to PV maybe.

Seems a bit ofd that the DEs from FW on short term loan for the 391 are now appearing with V garage codes.
Change of plan. New DLEs diverted to the 371 perhaps?
Doesn’t solve forthcoming Chiswick High Road ULEZ issues though so doubtful perhaps.

If their was a change of plan, the DE’s on the 391 could be upgraded instead - they will anyway even if they return back to the 33.

It seems as though there are vehicle swaps going on between S and V, as over the last couple of days the 2012 ADHs appear to be moving towards S and the 2010 ones going to V.
Any idea what this might be about?
