What’s the reason for a large amount of the 183’s SPs having FW garage codes on them? They were intended to move over to London United I believe, getting older SPs iirc.

Not sure if it was FW, but some of the 183's batch transferred to a London United garage around 2016? There was a surplus of DDs at London Sovereign at the time, with some of the VHs currently on the 18 being used on the 13/183 in addition to the VHRs.

They were refurbed with the intention of replacing the SLEs on the 267. I think a tender win scuppered that plan. Some spent almost a year in store at HH

What’s the reason for a large amount of the 183’s SPs having FW garage codes on them? The first one from 183s batch was SP40078 which came back probably from H&D with FW codes and United logos. There were discussions long time ago about being a mistake.

The 10-reg ones still have them, but the 56-reg now show HH after moving there for about 9 months Ironically SP40078 may now another AV bus with FW stickers

Are the SPs for the 203 only available because school is out and they come from the 696 and 697?

Are the SPs for the 203 only available because school is out and they come from the 696 and 697? There are a handful of extra SPs that are now kept as spares as no longer allocated to a route I think there will be another 4 directly released when 81 finishes , plus ADEs displaced replace another 12 or 13 SPs By the summer will thus be about 20 surplus SPs Currently plan is based on Richmond area changes taking place in May, which in theory sees end to double deck workings on 203 as lower single deck PVR following the changes.

Extremely daft idea, but crazy can be clever. Route branding the K5. Sounds ridiculous, I know. But if the K5 does get the ex-Arriva E10 E200’s, they are going to have a livery that isn’t standard in Kingston or Merton (Morden doesn’t really count in my part, since the most used part of the Route is the section between Raynes Park and Ham). Therefore, you have an opportunity for Route branding, this could help the visually impaired as they could notice the flash of green and know it is a K5. K5, for those of you that don’t know this rocket ride of a route, is a Hail and Ride Route, going past Council Flats and Retirement Homes and areas that elderly people normally reside (example: the flats around Elm Road). So it would make sense that some people would need assistance identifying the bus. A bit of Route branding might help out a bit in this situation, and correct me if I am wrong, but these SDEs are a h*** of a lot more accessible than the OS. Automatic Ramps and lower kneeling. (PS. If I am wrong, someone correct it before vjaska gets to me, as I think he is fed up of correct my a** all the time) Well surely it can't do any harm? A K5 with just Ham on the destination blind doesn't tell potential users very much, how many people at the Morden end would even know where Ham is?

That must be one of the most complicated routes to learn in London.

Maybe adding the via destinations like on the 275 when it was trialed or like in the attached concept (NOT MY PHOTO) (obviously on a single decker), or adding on the blind "via Kingston" like on the TAs, but underneath the main destination.

My father mastered in in a week, with a bit of assistance from me, as I've ridden it for about 3 years.
