Don't know if this is a common problem but recently i have been traveling on a lot of single door single deck buses and after abit into the route the bus stopping sign just stays on and doesn't go off when the doors open only noticed it on single door buses tho.

im guessing your refering to a dennis dart, it is highly common on them. If they are turning left the wind will blow the doors slightly open causing the announcement to go off

I've noticed this on ALX400 Tridents and the only way those platform lights come on is if the interior lights are all on too which, in our current warm weather, doesn't help the heat levels on bus. If the iBus doesn't "trigger" then the Bus Stopping section of the sign will stay on. So for example if the bus doesn't say "174 to Dagenham, Marsh Way" then the "Bus Stopping" will stay on.

It's More just the "Bus stopping" Bit staying on it will say "498 To Brentwood" But the bus stopping sign stays on just noticed it alot on the X26 which has Scania OmniCities Single deck Single Door

Its the same with the majority of our single decks at BC. The stops are annouced but not the route and destination. The bus stopping light is always showing. I have had continous complaints from passengers when I don't stop for them. It usually goes like this... Passenger - Driver, I wanted that stop! Me - So, why didn't you press the bell? Passenger - I did press the bell! Me - Yes, after I went pass the stop Passenger - I pressed it for that stop! Me - If you did then the bus stop sign on the dashboard would light up, before I got there Passenger - Well, it says bus stopping up there Me - So, you didn't press the bell ;D Depending on how the conversation goes, or on my mood, I generally let them off
