Well after tramgate, there was traingate & tubegate as well. All they are missing is the DLR, riverboat, cycling and walking and they've then completed their racism on the main modes of London Transport

Information really for any bus drivers who are not aware of this.
Thursday 29th Dec 2011 @ 1430 hours
Dear all, Due to an issue with Oyster some London Bus Staff Oyster cards are showing as expired when touched on a reader. Ticket Technology are looking into the issue but will not be able to put a fix in until 2nd January 2012. Should your drivers have an issue with an expired pass, please advise them to carry out a visual check to confirm identity or call CentreComm for guidance.

Handy to know Beaver, I was planning on going out tomorrow. Does this apply to the nominee passes as well?

I get the impression that its those of us that had Oyster cards prior to the general public ever receiving them - so TfL staff. But you may have a problem. Handy to know Beaver, I was planning on going out tomorrow. Does this apply to the nominee passes as well?

Update
Oyster Problems A change has been sent to all Rail devices at 09:00 this morning and will be sent to Bus devices throughout today that should ensure that all Staff Passes can continue to be used. Throughout the remainder of today we will be regularly checking that no further cards used are being disabled. If there is no further evidence today of cards expiring it should be communicated that staff be encouraged to resume using their Staff Passes from tomorrow morning. In the event that tomorrow staff continue to report that their cards being blocked, current arrangements whereby Station staff and bus operators have been instructed to allow staff and nominees to travel as usual if Staff or Nominee Oyster cards and Photo ID cards are shown, rather than using validators/readers should continue.

Its pre privatisation passes as well, ie some staff that started before '94, not only TfL staff. Bus Operator and similar cards aren't affected.

Notice the article says that the damage to the bus is severe but I've seen a pic of the front of the bus taken by a mate of my brother who was there at the time. Firstly, the bus looks like its stopped just inches short of crashing into Sainsburys and secondly, the bus has smashed windscreen where the drivers cab was and most of the front panels below the windscreen are missing, wouldn't call it severe really. It's all easily repairable.

Glad there were no casualties. Coincidentally I worked at that Sainsburys branch as part of my school work placement in 2006.

More coincidence - I regularly go to the Cineworld just opposite in the Arndale Centre, seeing as I have the unlimited card
