If she did the left before lower regent street, going in to haymarket, she could have parked her bus there at the stand next to tiger tiger and gone to the loo in there or trocadero or the many restaurants there. I can't figure out why she was running light via shaftsbury avenue though

That's absolutely shocking . Probably one of the most obvious one way systems in Central London, how can a 23 driver make a mistake like that?!

That was simply un-called for! There are various free public toilets around Oxford Street that I am aware of - the obvious ones are inside Mc Donald's and KFC, and the one situated above Bond Street tube station inside West One shopping centre. There is also one on the 2nd floor of the Apple Store on Regent Street and the Tiger Tiger at Haymarket as steve80 has mentioned. I think there is one in Hamley's as well.
She is very lucky the police let her off with a warning, simply because she was in desperate need of the toilet. Had that not been the case her actions would have been classed as Dangerous Driving, which is a serious motoring offence.

I'm guessing she may have gotten confused with the new traffic layout as the 14/19/38 used to turn left beforehand into Haymarket then back up Lower Regent Street (possibly her mistaking Lower Regent Street for Haymarket). Having said that, still no excuse for her error as road signs are still there which she should have read.
So glad nobody got injured as it's bad enough driving around there with tourist looking the wrong way before crossing the road. Remember it all well from my spells on the 88.
