Latest I'm hearing from a reliable source, the school route 692 will be withdrawn entirely from the start of the new school term in September. Interesting. The 692 is an afternoon journey on route 699 which runs via Potters Bar station and doesn't continue from Southgate to Winchmore Hill. Wonder if it will be replaced with a journey on the 699? If not, this would mean that the 699 requires one less vehicle in the afternoon than it does in the morning, which could be used on the JFS routes which collectively require 2 additional vehicles in the afternoon.

bustimes.org suggests that Uno now have ex-220 ADE40470.
I assume this is for the new 628/653/683/688 contracts, and more ADEs will follow (alongside the 2x ex-23 ADHs)?
They also have acquired the BYD/E400EV demonstrator (LF69UXJ), which had previously been trialled at HCT and RATP.

So it appears that the UNO DD fleet looks as follows:
1471-5 (1475 VOR) - ex Metroline BYD1471-5 1476 ex Tower Transit DNH39115 1477 ex Tower Transit DNH39118 1478 ex Tower Transit DH38501 2TBC ex Tower Transit DH38502-3 TBC ex RDTL ADE40470 TBC ex HCT/RDTL BCE47000
This means that they have 12 double decks. The total morning PVR of all the school routes (628, 643, 653, 683, 688, 699) is 15, and in the afternoon it is 16. Therefore they need at least 5 additional double decks to complete all allocations with one spare, likely two or three spares would be desired. It's also worth noting that route 643 needs hybrids or electrics and route 699 can only use electrics, but there are sufficient compliant vehicles to complete the allocations of those two routes.

Not sure why another operator seemed to have so many "issues" with finding them I think there are two main reasons. One is that UNO is significantly bigger than Sullivans and so has more purchasing power to negotiate the price down. Another is that Sullivans are unwilling to purchase hybrids or electrics, narrowing down their choices when it comes to purchasing new vehicles.

The Uno and Sullivans fleet are pretty much the same size, according to Bus Times Uno has two more vehicles. So clout for ordering would make no difference.

Not to mention like when Sullivans started winning school routes in 2012/2013, they ordered obscure buses in order to achieve the vehicle requirement (PDL26, TPL926/927, ELV1-ELV10, WVL2-WVL4). Pretty similar story here, the E40Hs are only a batch of two, one E400 City EV and 3 MMCs off the 69. Other operators may rather one consistent batch for easier type training, maintenance etc

ADE40454-40457 are with UNO The 628/653/683/688 were awarded on shorter term contracts, meaning the older DDs are compliant, so I assume these will use a mix of the ex-TT 12reg DNHs and ex-RATP 62reg ADEs. Would need about 13-14 vehicles in total, so my guess is Uno may have purchased several more of the ex-220 batch? The 643 is a hybrid contract (for 7 years) so would logically be allocated the newer 65reg MMCs. The BYD/E400EV demonstrator could just be a general spare?

If not one additional vehicle is needed to meet the PVR, and operational spares will be needed regardless. Two or three more vehicles will likely be needed, of the ex 220 batch 8 are yet to be marked as withdrawn on LVF. The first 4 are the ones you mention above, some of the other 4 could end up with UNO. Additionally one ex AV E400 at BT (ADE40412) has not been seen in service since the 142 loss in January.
