Hi all Im currently in Malta on holiday and have been riding around on a few ex London bendies. To be honest they are in a bad way, most of them are sluggish, have pannels missing at the rear or have engines like a ticking timebomb. The new King Longs are not much better with diffs already on their way out and sluggish (there only a year old) so i guess maintance isnt that great and none of the ramps on the bendies work at all . If people think bendies are not suited to London, they are even less suited to Malta with its narrow streets. Thanks Jay

When I was over in Malta in April I thought the use of bendies on services was good, as passenger numbers were so high that conventional single deckers wouldn't cope. You're right though, they're not in a very good way, and what with the poor condition of some of the roads over there, the ride can be very bumpy at times When I was over there, there was one that had 29 or something on the back blind. Is it still like that if you've seen it ;D

I'm going there next year for a uni trip, so it will be interesting if things will change by then. Although, I doubt i'll have much time for bus trips when i'm there unfortunatly.

It is kind of weird now I miss bendies now oh well good riddance to those horrible things. Also Malta's buses seem to always get knackered used buses from London lol.
