If you mean AKNEW - It's the text TfL put into iBus that the drivers unit logs into on. It's before the regs get confirmed to a bus.
This page shows all the recent logs into iBus of destination.

As Sebastian has said this is a temporary "reg number" that TfL allocate until the real reg number is entered into the I-Bus system. There are variants for each company - "LUNEW" for London United, "NENEW" for Abellio London (harks back to National Express ownership) etc. There is a wonderful error in the system whereby the real reg number for the Euro 6 engined E40D (Abellio 9544) is shown against a London General Enviro 200 used on the 493. I still can't work out what the temporary I-Bus reg number is for 9544.

Thanks for the answers, quirky stuff such as this is pretty interesting! Is there a list available of all the operator codes, Found a CWNEW254X on the 368 which I can only think as standing for CentreWest Cheers, Chris

From what I have seen most of the codes are reasonably self explanatory. CT for CT Plus is another one. CW makes sense as First now run the 368 and, of course, First bought their way into London by buying Centrewest from Mr Hendy! The simplest way to establish codes is to look up those routes with the newest vehicles.

TfL obviously have to change the data for both vehicles to get the system in line.

However ADE33 is actually YX62 ARE, which I went on today
