DW457 which I rode on the 99 later that day is another excellent DW although not as quick as DW427 it performed brilliantly on the hills given that the 99 is hilly route between Erith and Plumstead.

DW452 & 455 are good whilst DW435 was decent. I’d probably avoid DW429 as it looked sluggish on Saturday.

Wouldn't call 455 good, that thing was struggling hilariously up the slightest of inclines, let alone the hill in Belvedere, when I had it on the 401. I've seen some good ones on YT (e.g. 432) but it certainly wasn't that thing

DW431+439 were definitely good. I actually went as far as calling DW439 a beast on the day If only other DWs were in such good nick...

I rode WVL25 on the 185 the other evening. It was so warm inside - positively toasty and then some - I even thought about popping a window open but adjusted to it before long.
It's remarkable that one of the oldest buses on the network has working heating, whilst many newer buses are perishingly cold in the winter.

Those things are absolute beasts. Not all of them are - the ex BN ones are hit & miss. DW282 was a rocket whilst down here and a few had their restrictions stripped back a little but many were quite poor - I recently had two rides on the 221 and ended up with one good and one bad so they still seem hit & miss.

DW512 sounded pretty good when it went past me on the 194 earlier. Won't mention the infamous K word as it's a 13reg but it was definitely getting some revs. Speaking of buses that rev high, WVL286 on the 171 seemed to have a normal takeoff until around 3rd/4th gear when the rocket fuel kicked in, and was quite happy to drop gears going round a roundabout as well.

9493 on the 156 now moves like a rocket, almost indistinguishable in performance from Abellio's, Go Ahead's and Arriva's cream of the euro5 variant E40Ds. There's plenty of low revv torque from the word go as the bus gives that extra boost in each gear.
The bus also cruises pretty well in 6th gear. Was trying to analyse if there's evidence of it still being speed restricted. It feels like it isn't as the engine revvs did go higher than usual in that gear, the driver perhaps doing around 35 miles per hour when along Nine Elms Lane.
Unfortunately when I got off at Wimbledon I forgot to quickly scope evidence on whether she's now euro6 modified, the tell tale sign usually being an extra flap door along the engine compartment.
