9493 on the 156 now moves like a rocket, almost indistinguishable in performance from Abellio's, Go Ahead's and Arriva's cream of the euro5 variant E40Ds. There's plenty of low rev torque from the word go as the bus gives that extra boost in each gear. The bus also cruises pretty well in 6th gear. Was trying to analyse if there's evidence of it still being speed restriction. It feels like it isn't as the engine revvs did go higher than usual in that gear, the driver perhaps doing around 35 miles per hour when along Nine Elms Lane. Unfortunately when I got off at Wimbledon I forgot to quickly scope evidence on whether she's now euro6 modified, the tell tale sign being an extra flap door along the engine compartment. Sounds good. With TopoDyn they'll go into 6th at 26mph but sounds like the speed limiter may have been relaxed. Recently ridden 9413 and 9438 which are both still good, 9419 too. Recently derestricted buses are normally limited to 45mph.

Do you happen to know if similar performance upgrades are happening with euro5 engine E40Ds on Voith, ie buses at Stagecoach, Quality Line, etc.

Did have a ride on the 257 and the hybrids do have smooth acceleration. B5LH's would suit the route in my opinion

E207 has been turned from the slug it was into a rocket. It had some problems which was limiting its acceleration but NP engineers have fixed it.

VLA139 have that brilliant kickdown with that lovely 'oomph' noise and also very quick bus as well.

LT157 on the 10 is almost as fast as an E40H, bearing in mind it didn't have much of a load at the time. Are these early Boris buses generally nippier than the later ones? It's not the first time I've seen a relatively quick LT from within London United, unless they've done some sort of a tweak up with engine management. Their 'mk1' E40Hs also seem to have a quicker pullaway than the Go Ahead and Abellio versions.

I'm not too sure what differentiates these two vehicles to the rest of the batch but DE51 and DE53 (both SO vehicles) have got to be some of the fastest accelerating buses I have ever driven. Relentless pulling in the lower gears and can both get to 30mph like its nothing. These two vehicles also love to make lots of noise with the fans on almost all the time - I had DE51 for FIVE rounds on Monday which made for a very entertaining evening!

MB’s 172 is an absolute rocket when thrashed! Had it on the 138, it’s probably the quickest E20D Enviro 200 ive has so far

Just went on 18490 earlier today while doing the 474 end to end, the bus is quick and powerful with the driver putting the throttle down at every possible opportunity
