DLA347 and DW53 showed off their impressive acceleration on route 50 yesterday. Can't wait to try out DW55 though, last time I rode on it on the 50 (months ago), it sounded dreadful.

There is one from the TF Mini E200 batch that is extremely fast and the engine sounds more like the Euro 3 engine used in the Dart than the Euro 4 engine. I've forgotten it's number I thought it was 8102 but I went on it today and it wasn't that one. May be 8104. VP107 has an over revving gearbox that makes its acceleration better than usual. But seems to fade over 30mph. SP165 has its acceleration pretty much unrestricted. STill has kick down disabled in 1st and 2nd like the rest of the batch but can hit higher revs and kick down is easily activated afterwards. On the flip side, it does appear to be limited to about 35mph - rest of the batch is 40mph.

All them DWs are fast , yea it is a shame they are all limited to 43mph. I wish my mate never got sacked at SF as so far he's provided me the fastest bus journey in london since 2009 when I went on a late running 57reg MM on the 206 from harlesden to Kilburn and before that a late running B6LE on the 487 back in 1999 from park royal station to central middlesex hospital, now those buses were something.

Never knew the DWs were limited... Hopefully AR will take this off, some stretches of the route are 50 mph roads... Even DW313 is a quick one... Full kickdown from Liverpool St to Bruce Grove was entertaining... Even the DLAs are quick, DLA294 is a fast one Sent from my GT-I9100 using proboards

Who knows if the DWs will be de limited, all I know is a couple engineers have said the HVs at SF can hit 70mph with ease and are unrestricted because they are hybrids.

It says electronically limited maz speed options and afaik options is something you can choose, so possibly Arriva choose not to limit them?

Nope Volvo do limit all there buses but there is a way of getting round this as I know a few PVL's that will do more than 60, The VLA at AR have been fitted with Electric fans by Volvo as far as I know so have probably had a check out by volvo and some work done to those knackered engines
