341 destination Angel Road Superstores rears it's ugly head again.... It's just an Ikea and a Tesco It's not even on Angel Road... I guess Glover Drive Superstores didn't sound much better.... Id' like it to read LEE VALLEY GARAGE TESCO/IKEA but still no-one is going to know where that is Joe Public rarely looks at the blinds and will still ask the driver where it goes DESPITE the blind saying so and iBus telling you every minute Lea Valley Tesco sounds better, Tottenham IKEA would be misleading as the area is more Northumberland Park than anything Sent from my GT-I9100 using proboards

That was a change for changes sake if ever there was one

IKEA Tottenham used to be IKEA Edmonton didn't it? Also I'm sure IKEA is actually in N18 so I guess that means Edmonton. Ikea is Edmonton - its postal address is Glover Drive which is N18 - Edmonton.... But the road before Glover Drive, Leeside Road (where Lee Valley Garage is located) is in N17 - Tottenham.

The Pointer Darts on we have a DT have "lift up" adjustable assault screens.
So I suppose that counts as a disappearing feature as they too will be gone in 2 months!!!
All the buses at DT used to have tube style route maps inside a few years ago. But as you have mentioned that didn't work too well when buses where used on other routes.

Four- leaf doors at the entrance, painted yellow have long gone as well... Which imo always looked good (the yellowness, that is!). And hey, if we've gone back to the timeless white roundel, why can't we have yellow entrance doors back ;D

Bins for tickets and whatever else passengers could fit in them have almost all but disappeared... From TfL NEW bus specification: 2.20 Miscellaneous Equipment
The following operational equipment is required
a) Used ticket bins are not considered necessary due to the low level of tickets issued. They should not be fitted to any position on the bus. And from REFURB bus specification: Note: Used ticket bins are not considered necessary due to the low level of tickets issued. They should be removed during refurbishment or if the ticket bin is moulded and part of a larger OE component, the bin should if possible be blanked off. So it seems they are being activley discouraged by TfL.

I like the way they've made a modern bus look really quite ancient! Blue Triangle's Lolyne bodied Tridents from 1999 also had a folding front door.

Some of the ex BC 51 reg Tridents I drove on the 381 had retractable assault screens. To be honest, I quite liked driving with them up as the 381 is a pleasant enough route. Some of the drivers at BC used to drive with them open including myself, when they were used on the 3 and 157. From what I can remember there was a notice stating this practice to cease immediately! Unbelievably I used to leave it open because it felt I could interact with the passengers better. A good thing but right now I wouldn't think twice about leaving the assault screen open When I was at London General their assault screens were fixed down yet the buses at London Central were able to slide up, two different union conditions between the subsidiaries. I remember the LDPs on the 345 having both versions as at the time it was done by SW, Q, PM and NX. (LDP45-51 fixed whilst LDP52-89 slideable).

Another missing feature these days are the blue diamond shaped stickers near the driver's cabs that said "Alarm, radio and CCTV fitted" or "Two-way radio fitted".
