I've re-stickied this thread as it looks like disruption could be on the way.

When i was on the bus and the driver told us to open the windows because the heaters dont work, why is that? Might be being sarcastic or the bus windows were getting misted up and he wanted to demist them.

Snow definitely is coming. Will start st 9am tomorrow and finish sometime late Saturday/early Sunday with a bit more on Monday. Amber warning from the met office. This could cause some problems with about 10cm or more predicted.

Yes but how many times are things predicted and nothing ever happens!!??!! Let's just wait until the morning and see what happens before you all get your knickers in a twist!

When i was on the bus and the driver told us to open the windows because the heaters dont work, why is that? I might be getting confused (probably) with something else, But I'm sure from something we learnt at College that opening the windows can sometimes help the heaters to work? The snow is forecast to hit us in the afternoon and quite a few of the train operators are going to be running an amended timetable with SWT being one of the main ones...

Im not saying that hasnt happened before, however an amber warning from the Metoffice normally indicates that it will snow. They have even given a rare Red Warning for Wales. Last time London was only on yellow warnings.

Is that 10cm for London or the UK? 10cm for London, 20-30cm for South Wales Other parts of uk are getting nearly the same amount as us www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings/#?tab=map&map=Warnings&zoom=5&lon=-4.50&lat=55.74&fcTime=1358337660Open up the orange warning, click On more details and that will tell you why they've given us a orange warning. Full impact and nearly Full chance of snow happening

London is only 10cm in localised areas average will be no more than 5cm (and London is a yellow warning)
I think this time we are gong to get significant snowfall, it's close now so they can predict it a bit more accurately....From what was on BBC London tonight I think the snow is due to hit around 6/7am.

Can see the 175 being suspended up here at Hillrise Estate if we do get the snow, Havering Council haven't bothered gritting the road

Yesterday there was frost on the cars at 6pm! And it said -1 in our car. My phone had also been showing -2 all day yesterday in Hounslow. Just now it had been showing 2.5 in the car.
