Found a picture of one of the BYD buses for Go-Away London looks a right state and in desperate need of a repaint before it evens enters service also the LED's have been replaced with roller blinds. www.flickr.com/photos/mjf-southsea/11247305246/not my photo full credit to the original photographer. The description of the picture notes it's in a state due to being stored up since the summer. Paintwork does look faded but I remember someone on here mentioned it has a special paintwork that protects it so maybe that explains the faded look? The comments say it has a wax protective coating on. The o/s emergency door has filler on it because of an incident with Xelabus (according to comments)

Wow, what a hideous looking mess! Don't see what the issue is, looks similar to a Citaro. Certainly looks better than some other vehicles I could mention.

Really?!?! Its fair enough, your entitled to your opinion Just looks a mess to me, and like a poor man's citaro. But maybe I will change my mind when its cleaned up and in service. Interior looks ok.

The photo is of a lhd version which is probably built to Chinese or Asian minimalist spec. I'd expect the London vehicles to look a bit tidier and smarter inside. These BYD buses are a new development and the Chinese are still learning how to build buses that will match European standards.

Ha, I'm a bit thick ain't I, I only looked at the photo briefly and didn't notice that it was not the UK version!! Many thanks for pointing this out!!!!

Go Ahead have tweeted that EB1 has arrived at Waterloo garage. LOTS are reporting on their news page that entry into service on the 507 / 521 is expected some time this week.

I will be looking forward to be seeing them on London VF when they enter into service. I don't know why TFL is not giving them much publicity over the 2 electric buses which is being used on the Red Arrow routes. But it'll be interesting to see how it all pans out.

My hunch is that someone at TfL has said "what the heck is going on?" about the electric buses. The fact that the latest Commissioner's Report said nothing about them must have been an embarrasment to TfL. All of a sudden the buses arrive in London after *months* lurking in Hampshire. I expect there will be some sort of launch with Boris grinning from ear to ear but otherwise there will not be a big fanfare because the second one of them breaks down (as they will) it will be all over Twitter in seconds. They're unique vehicles in the UK so I expect there will be teething troubles which TfL will want sorted before there is any great "song and dance" about the buses.

They're unique vehicles in the UK so I expect there will be teething troubles which TfL will want sorted before there is any great "song and dance" about the buses. There will always be teething problems on new products, but thankfully GAL and LOTS reported that the 2 electric buses will enter into service on the Red Arrow routes. Since the BYD eBus vehicles are tested in most cities worldwide, would it show success to the BYD market? But the issue with electric buses been debatable since Ken Livingstone wants to roll them out instead of NBFL's during 2012. But its strange there is no noises made in the GLA regarding about the electric buses. But I think it will be introduced as a suprise to the public. But TFL yet needs to add electric buses onto their projects page, I don't get why they have to hide some of their projects. But I hope the Metro and Evening Standard newspapers pick up on the Electric Bus project. But will the electric buses be cheap to operate? Well I guess why not because I researched on the electric buses in America and they certainly have made their cost of operating cheap. Plus with the maintenance they don't need to change the oil, all what they need to do is plug the computer to the bus and check the problems out, most of the time they just plug the bus to the charging station and connect the charger to the socket to the wall. The electric buses are ideal for shorter routes like the 507 and 521, but I doubt they will operate on x26 as its the London's most longest bus route. Each end of the route the bus needs to be recharge in order for it to go into another duty. I also hope it goes well for the Optare electric buses which are operating on the routes in the Outer London areas. I will be looking forward to see how much TFL is saving on operating the Hybrids (including NBFL), Hydrogen and the electric buses. Lastly, if it wasn't for LT removing the trolley buses in the 1950's, buses today will be very different if the trolley buses got retained and stayed in service over the years...

I went down to Waterloo the other day to see them, and I noticed they are in an all over leaves livery, like on the HDE's, albeit with a new design
