May's Press Release 78 extra double deck buses It says contracts now awarded further to route 43 and 143 I'm aware of 29 for route 94, but what contracts have been awarded for another 49 electric double decks ? The notes to press release also say route 43 will be complete by end of September and 134 by end of October

The only other recent tender that's been awarded that could potentially be an electric candidate is the 25, although that was awarded using EuroVI Hybrids unless that's been changed. PVR of 31 with 4 spares makes 35, leaving a remaining 12 buses so that does sound a bit sticky.

The 139 seems likely, maybe the delayed 271 (about 13-14 buses) Of other routes out to tender, 460 seems to far outside central London, 319 is a long shot My hunch is a conversion, not a tendered route for the second one (possibly with another route getting the current buses), wasn't there a recent post about a new LT conversion next April which suggests a current LT route going electric. The other thing about the press release, the wording suggests these contracts are awarded, so where is the tender award, or has mayor's press office got ahead of the Tender Department in slipping out the info

I could see the revised 23 being reduced in frequency.

I would like to see those routes get electric buses but most likely will get hybrids, We already know 29 New electric buses are for the 94, but I bet the other Routes will most likely be 139 and 271

Metroline could have a good chance here since they have an extensive experience with electric vehicles.

As do RATP, could get very interesting if both routes do end up being electric candidates.

Agreed. Both routes should definitely be candidates especially the 139 which penetrates the heart of Central London. The results of these routes should be interesting viewing when they come out. Metroline could run the 23 from WJ and the 139 from W with new electric double deckers for example.

I don't think WJ will be able to accommodate the 23 due to land being required by network rail I believe this was mentioned before hence the 31 couldn't operate from WJ
