Probably best to avoid Central London next week *Puts on grumpy commuter cap* Ugh, really? It's bad enough that buses have been diverted northbound away from Bank via Liverpool Street 🙄 I've already been forced to get the train to work for the last month or so. The City is always full of diversions. When one diversion ends another opens up elsewhere.

Rushmore Hill is closed until next Wednesday for gas main replacement. Some genius at TfL has decided Pratts Bottom doesn’t need a service for 10 days (you can hardly count 3 trips in each direction a day a service) so on the R5/R10 we are using Cudham Lane twice on each trip. I’ve just come off 30 minutes late and we’ve already lost one trip around the loop today and likely to lose another.
I have absolutely no idea why we can’t use Watercroft Road and Old London Road exactly as we have in the past when we’ve lost Rushmore Hill. The passengers can’t understand it either and guess who they are moaning at? 🙄

The interesting thing about these roadworks is that buses ARE allowed through the works and will NOT be diverted. Apparently this is something that London Travelwatch have repeatedly asked for and this is a trial.

226, 260, 266 and 460 are diverted between cricklewood and Willesden via Kilburn High Road due to a burst water main on Chichele Road This is a diversion I hated as a driver.

158s are diverting via Chingford Rd and Forest Road between Crooked Billet and Blackhorse Rd. I believe there is a burst water main on Blackhorse Lane which is the source of the problem. W11s are a tad busier today!!
I even saw a 158 stop at my local stop to pick someone up which is a bit of a surprise.

This morning The Green in Southall appeared to be closed for some reason. Therefore the northbound routes were diverted via Havelock Road and Merrick Road, while the southbound routes were diverted via Merrick Road and Norwood Road (although I think the E5 in the Toplocks Estate direction would completely miss out Featherstone Road, Sussex Road, Western Road, and the bit of Havelock Road outside the Gurdwara, instead going left direct from Merrick Road to the northern bit of Havelock Road).

This morning, The Green was open but the traffic northbound was absolutely ridiculous! I got on 2 Curtailed E5's, 1 Curtailed 105 and 1 Curtailed 95 to get to school! Not the best of days. The traffic keeps on getting worse on The Green and the approach to Southall Broadway. A fair chunk of the E5 would be missed if it is going down that diversion route.

From Saturday until Tuesday there were temporary traffic lights at the Park Avenue junction. But the 120 seemed to be messed up all day for some reason, especially nearer the Northolt end. At The Green there were "Road Ahead Closed" signs at both ends just before 1100, but my 120 driver ignored them and nothing happened. Then when I went back an hour later the signs had been turned to face the pavement, as if they had been placed too early. Also on Norwood Road near the Merrick Road roundabout (at the bottom of the canal bridge) there is now a big screen used to give information for roadworks, which suggests roadworks are planned somewhere, but it wasn't powered up this evening and all roads appeared to be open.

The TfL website now has the Southall diversion info, but you'll only find it if you search for the 105, 195, 482 or H32. It also mentions the 120 and E5 in the text but looks like someone has forgotten to link it to those two routes and ak121 looks like the E5 is going direct via Merrick Road in both directions, completely missing out Featherstone Road Also need to check which way the 120 is going in the northbound (Northolt) direction as diversion signs appear to have it go to King Street then Havelock Road past the Gurdwara, but this information and what is programmed into Countdown suggests it is going direct via Merrick Road in both directions. Looks like that road will have its best service for years . Could last a few weeks actually as it is a collapsed sewer according to Ealing Council and what the big sign on Norwood Road says

I remember many years ago when Station Parade was closed all the routes were programmed to not announce Barking Station and to just move onto the next stop.

241 / 325 have been on diversion for 3 days because of a burst water main in Freemasons road. Nothing showing on TfL website and no notices on bus stops despite Freemasons being closed in both directions and no buses serving New Barn Street towards Stratford.
Buses are not doing the silly double run to Canning Town this time instead using Prince Regent toward Stratford and New Barn Street and A13 towards Canning Town.

I was on the 241 yesterday towards Canning Town and when you approach the A13 instead of using the underpass it went round to Prince Regent Lane then follow the 147 to line of route.

Yep thats the standard diversion route At least the other route towards Stratford is much more sensible now!
