Rye Lane Bus diversions of 11 routes leave long walks due to lack of temporary stops It appears TfL have not made themselves popular with users due to lack of temporary stops, not the first time this has happened, but for a 13 month closure would have thought some of those temporary flags that attach to lampposts (the more fixed version of portable dolly stop) could have been planned. TfLs reasoning appears to be temporary stops might cause congestion (oh dear, people getting on/off buses, how troublesome, silly concept people actually wanting to use a bus).

It is and this is ridiculous unless the road is closed completely and there is no alternative (buses towards Croydon don't seem to be effected) a massive chuck of the route missed out and normally a lot of commuters board at Sanderstead Station. Is it the same cause as last time? I presume so as the 412 is affected as well? A simple diversion via Upland Road would mean no stops missed at all but presumably TfL have deemed it unsuitable for whatever reason?

Unless my memory is playing tricks there used to be a stop on Copeland Road - somewhere near the bus garage - labelled for buses on diversion. I can't see it on Streetview so I guess it's been removed.

Not really a diversion plan but... 57, 131, 213, K5 and N87 are diverted at discretion of Control and the driver via Clarence Street. They are not stopping at Eden Street due to the Cromwell Road Gas Works.
Other routes are diverted from Eden Street to Cromwell Road via Wood Street, Sopwith Way and Cromwell Road. Please be warned - delays are occurring a minimum of 5 minutes and a maximum of 1 hr, so check before you travel.

Road closed from Burnt Oak Broadway to Mollison Way due to a burst water main. The repairs are expected to take four days. In that time, routes 114 & 606 from Burnt Oak Broadway are diverted via Burnt Oak Broadway, Edgware Road, Capitol Way, Stag Lane, Mollison Way and back to line of route. The same diversion in reverse on return. Route 302 from Burnt Oak Broadway is diverted via Burnt Oak Broadway, Edgware Road, Capitol Way, Stag Lane and back to line of route. The same diversion in reverse on return.

Route 240 is diverted following a collision on Holders Hill Road. The diversion uses Holders Hill Circus, Dollis Road, Nether Street, Regents Park Road, Hendon Lane, Great North Way, Parson Street to line of route.
AFAIK this marks the first time ever a double decker has been allowed down Dollis Rd and Nether St! I really hope they thought this through though, don't want any smashed windows from low trees...

They wouldn't send a double decker where it cannot go - I could be wrong but don't they risk assess possible diversion routes?

I've been on a DD down that way, on a rail replacement service many years ago. No problems whatsoever. I have a vague memory that the 221 may have been diverted that way in the past.

Owing to burst water mains on Westferry Road (implying roads are shut), the 135, 277 and D7 are on diversion (not up on tfl yet). I was on a 135 going to Asda and this has the most interesting diversion of them all (presumably the rest also have the same diversion) - nice little double run which saved me 10 minutes!
After exiting Canary Wharf and coming down the ramp towards the marsh wall roundabout, the 135 is following the typical D8 route through marsh wall. Then post south quay dlr station, the 135 is taking a right turn onto limeharbour, sailing past crossharbour station and the Asda, on through eastferry road Road, left turn back onto line of route onto Manchester road, island gardens station, more of Manchester road, marsh wall, back on limeharbour a second time and into the stand at Asda. Interesting quirk and one I wouldn’t mind happening more often (without burst pipes of course!)

I foresee a long and tricky diversion next week (although hopefully only for one night if the work is done on time). This came to mind driving in Crossdeep at Twickenham when I saw a diversion sign listing just about all the routes in the town. Next Wednesday the road through Heath Road railway bridge will be closed from 9 p.m. for bridge works. If I were driving that way by car I know plenty of back doubles which would avoid it, but none would be suitable for buses. As far as I can think the only suitable bus diversion for routes such as the 290, 490, R70, H22,281,and night versions would be to go via Fulwell Garage and then the 33 route via Teddington and Strawberry Hill. Even at night this would add about 20 minutes to journey times, and leave no service on the long stretches between Hospital Bridge Road or Fulwell Garage and Twickenham Town Centre. It would be hoped that the road is open for the morning rush hour otherwise there will be chaos for miles around.
