What will happen to Route 9H operations? It is part of Westbourne Park so will presumably pass over to the new company. Why would it be any different?

So there will be same staff but under a different branding. What will happen to Route 9H operations? It is part of Westbourne Park so will presumably pass over to the new company. Why would it be any different? I am going to miss the First Group logo on the red buses

Woah, so on the 22nd they will finally cease all London operations. It's bizarre that First Group is surrendering all their operations, Will be interesting to see if Transit Systems use their own name, or go the way of Macquarie and bring back old names...it'd be great to see the Centrewest/Gold Arrow and Capital Citybus brands I really hope Capital Citybus brand returns. 22nd? whats happening then? I thought it would take a few months to srt things out.

It gives Metroline a near monopoly in NW London, just Arriva Shires and Abellio as competitors really.
Presumably they weren't allowed to buy Atlas Road and Westbourne Park as well?

Wonder if Metroline will keep First fleetnumbers...logically and given that First fleetnumbers are so long, no. But they kept Armchair's DP and DT vehicle codes. First's numbering system in London is bollox - I understand the national fleetnumbering but all that VNW VNZ DMV stuff was annoying They should have just done the five digit numbers like Stagecoach I assume Metroline will add the E400's and B9TL's to their existing sequential system, ditto the single decks. I imagine the B7TLs may have the same sort of designation, we'll have to wait and see... TransitSystems commissioned me to make up a logo for their new London ops - that takes care of Atlas Rd and Westbourne Park - I'll wait till the cheque clears before I do the east end stuff ;D

The 79 will actually remain at PA. Its got a low cost per base, even lower than ON which is why it was on in the first place. I expect that the fleetnames on some of the First vehicles will be removed. Its now the issue of sorting out the leased buses from the non leased buses. That's pretty much the reason why the Armchair vehicles and Thorpes vehicles kept their identity as there was not long term aim to keep the vehicles due to them being leased. Expect a CELF post soon. You cannot sell a leased bus. All you can do is see if the leasing company is prepared to novate the lease to a new company (they don't have to). Of course they could charge you a fee to do a transfer and lets face it both of the new Operators wouldn't be able to muster alternatives buses quickly, so might have to pay hefty lease transfer fees. An alternative is First continue the leases and effectively sub-let the buses, but that means they wont get the cash quickly

Let's see what fleetname the Aussies think up for their new London ops I really wish everyone would use the same fleet numbers, would make it so much easier identifying what is what....Dont like just numbers either, can just about remeber stagecoaches ones but with out looking it up, I wouldnt have a clue what a Metrobus 384 (for example) is!!
