First's numbering system in London is bollox - I understand the national fleetnumbering but all that VNW VNZ DMV stuff was annoying They should have just done the five digit numbers like Stagecoach I assume Metroline will add the E400's and B9TL's to their existing sequential system, ditto the single decks. I imagine the B7TLs may have the same sort of designation, we'll have to wait and see... Let's see what fleetname the Aussies think up for their new London ops I really wish everyone would use the same fleet numbers, would make it so much easier identifying what is what....Dont like just numbers either, can just about remeber stagecoaches ones but with out looking it up, I wouldnt have a clue what a Metrobus 384 (for example) is!! I disagree. Why should fleet numbering systems be made to suit Enthusiasts? It's the organisations choice to give what ever fleet number to whatever bus they want IMO. The organisations have their own systems to suit themselves. When it comes to numbered systems. It comes to just working it out tbh. Regarding Metrobus they just fling anything anywhere, but I understand their numbering system. Stagecoach is not difficult and Neither is Abellio.

Should TFL do a deal with Stagecoach to start the 365, 165, 179 and 252 routes early on the 22nd May?

I see what you are saying, of course nothing should be done to suit enthusiasts. I just think that it would be simpler all round and also for TfL. Its only my personal preference, Im not saying it actually should happen

I just want the Union Jack flag to stay on the SRM3. Well I can't wait to see the "Kangaroos hopping across Tower Bridge" logo on the 15H Routemasters. They'll look brill with the new logo. ;D Somebody better tell Stagecoach they have lost the 15H ;D

Well it's not fair for a new operator to take over the First operations of East London and then few months time they lost 4 routes. So if First handed the routes over early it will make it easy for the new company to arrange the buses...etc But it will take a long wile to them to tender more routes for their own garage. Somebody better tell Stagecoach they have lost the 15H ;D So when Metroline gets 9H, does it mean Metroline can run their own preserved Routemaster on 9H?

But again FreeBBC nothing has been decided about Dagenham! If anything a sale of Dagenham won't happen until after the other routes move to Stagecoach. Thats just my view anyway!

I doubt too many routes will move garages (If any)

Wow . That is a lot at one time. It will be weird not seeing First around in my local area. I often jokingly called them "worst" but that's far from the truth Of course it throws up a lot of questions: 1. What effect will there be on the employees? 2. Could some route transfers between garages take place? (Obviously linked to the first question) 3. How could services be affected, especially in the days after the completion of the sale? 4. Greenford's E1, E3 and E10 are coming up for tender soon. What effect, if any, could this sale have on those? 5. When will the sale actually be completed? None have particularly easy answers

From what I can remember, First, like Arriva, rarely lease vehicles (the Artics seem to be the only exception) so that shouldn't be a problem.
I'm very dismayed by the news, not just for the staff, but as already mentioned, North West London is virtually Metroline run now.

Dagenham could go to RATP Dev but I have a feeling it could go to Go-Ahead
