On a related matter group members may also be interested that TfL have announced that there are now trial Countdown signs in use at colleges and schools in East London. This is part of the scheme to provide signs in places off the bus network.

- The NB4L contract has not yet been finalised / signed. A memorandum of understanding has been put in place to allow production to start.
- Preparations under way to select second route for NB4L conversion.
- Best in class particulate emissions performance for NB4L.
- TfL are conducting a 4 month long comparison study between hybrid types to assess their fuel consumption and how / why it varies.
- 180m pass jnys on buses in Period 12. Forecast full year total slightly below target.
- 3 new hydrogen buses have passed their EMC testing and await final type approval. Deliveries and start into service should commence in April 2013. No word on the 8th vehicle.
- TfL are planning on a total of 1600 hybrid buses by 2016 - 600 NB4L and 1,000 conventional ones. TfL will be submitting a Green Bus Fund application in April 2013 to bring forward more buses this year. 91 hybrids are on order.
- Crime levels on buses continuing to fall overall.
- Cycle hire expansion works in SW London have started.
- No update on the Chinese "electric" buses for Go Ahead.
