What horrible weather we've had today! I prefer it to the colder wetter summer of 2007, if you can even call that summer.

I got a question to car owners. Do you use the air con in the car or you roll your windows down to get the air in

For local driving, Both windows down, shades on, arm hanging out the window, music blaring, cruising! I avoid using A/C as much as possible as it makes my eyes dry and itchy. Yesterday, one of my mates who works for Monster Energy, had to take some fridges up to Kings Lynn for the Speedway World Cup, I went with him in one of their Black VW Caddy's, the thing doesn't have any A/C, after spending 3hrs with the windows down bombing along the M25, M11 and various country roads we were rather windswept and deaf!

Wimp Windows down, which is lovely doing 70mph around the M25 (yes, it is moving believe it or not) from Ockendon to Hemel Hempstead!!! Oh, I also work in the food trade and our shop, with all doors open too, was reaching 38c. That's with full air movement through the shop.....and bus drivers say that they've got it hard

Well, i'm based in a modern building with air-con - indeed my personal office has its own air con unit so after my cycle to work in the morning I shut the door and put it on the lowest setting and its like being in a freezer! However when I leave at 5pm, I step outside and the heat hits you like a brick wall!
Its a hard life

I was out and about on buses during the middle of the afternoon even went to Heathrow where 31.9C was recorded (somewhere in Hampton managed 32.4C). Currently 30C in the living room and have had windows closed at times because of neighbours having a barbecue and making loads of noise. Best air conditioning on today's bus: VSH69927 of First Berkshire! Two units on that bus, one at the front and another 3/4 of the way down. Gemini VW1179 was chucking out lukewarm air just like an E400, with the added problem of having smaller vents which were pointing in odd places (where your legs go as opposed to your upper body).

I was in a lovely cool Data Centre in South Quay installing a switch max temp of 16C... then in the air conditioned car home... No such luck today, on a stuffy, rattling class 315 to Harold Wood to fix a printer... then the tube into town Sent from my GT-I8190N using proboards

My old Galaxy Nexus's battery life has improved a lot more since the 'heatwave'. I've been getting around 3 extra hours!

One bad thing about the hot weather is the amount of trouble that is causing for traffic. I hear several calls form centrecomm about several roads being closed. I understand that clapham common north side was closed due to burst water mains. Manor road, junction of rowan road in pollards hill had a burst water main causing 20 minute tailbacks from Streatham cemetery to pollards hill. In west Croydon, you got the road melting just outside the bus station, and you also got plenty fires. There was a big grass fire in mitcham common yesterday which resulted in major roads being closed. I started work quite late so I missed all the chaos
