Looks like another NB4L has had a bash. The only possible candidate, based on time out of service, is London General's LT56 shown out of service at Sloane Square at 1656. Sloane Square has pretty tight turns so I imagine it's possible to misjduge a turn or have a loon in a car or van force a move on a bus driver.

Sigh... I will expect to see musical WVL's back on the 11!
First LT35, second LT62 and third LT56!

Well this one will be short term off the road as it looks to be minor and a short trip to the accident centre at nx should be sufficient.

I used to drive the 211/452 around that square - at less than 10mph normally. There is no excuse for hitting a bollard like that, most likely the driver simply wasn't watching where they were going for whatever reason!

If that was one out of HT then it would have been quite ironic as on their noticeboard they have a photo of a bollard around the corner from HT (Monnery Road) as an accident hotspot for the garage, and this is similar (saw the notice at the open day a couple of months ago) Unfortunately it was not the only collision involving a SW bus today, as I've seen photos from VPL630 of EH1 being involved in a minor accident by going into the back of a van, only a cracked windscreen on it though.

The turning from the square to lower sloane street (towards Chelsea bridge) is a bit tight imo. The actual turning is not hard but oncoming traffic going into sloane square makes it much more difficult especially with the bollard. However, looking at the picture in that link, you can see that this incident happened right next to the bus stand. You can see the bus stop flag above the yellow van, on the bus nearside.

Bet he did no offside mirror check while going round that corner, just turned way too early or both or just took the corner too fast that he could not recover. I'm always told by my instructor if it's safe to do so, always give a little too much room for a corner and turn late, if I need to straddle lanes to get round then do so.

Better to be safe than sorry, I was speaking to an instructor at the metroline open day and he said that compared to a VW it's a big difference when taking a corner with an LT

I can't see that being anything other than driver error.........why was he/she on the pavement in the first place?

Could understand a slight clipping of the kerb, but any excuse for being that far on to the pavement?!

Hazard a guess, from LVF info, that this is LT96. Incidentally, and to keep this thread up to date, Go-Ahead's LT56 is back up and running.
