Just seen on londonbusroutes.net that route N9 is converting to LTs in 2 weeks Saturday, lol I thought this route already ran with LTs. Although they have not yet been used on the night element I believe those LTs have had N9 on their blinds for a while (if not from new), in essence future-proofing their displays. It's somewhat similar to the LTs on the 68 which include N68 on the blinds yet not 'officially' spec'd with the type... presumably due to residential parking issues near the Old Coulsdon terminus. Would love to know whether the N87 will be converting to LTs with the 87, although I imagine if so the route may in practice be a mixed allocation like with the N11. according to london general on fandom route n87 is supposed to become nb4l

Also note that apart from the early 11PM AV starters, the late night/early morning departures are also going to be removed, which do get packed to rafters by the way - I can see that being well received - NOT!!

Something I noticed this week, was the quite substantial number of cross London passengers who get on the last N9’s westbound from Aldwych. Most seem to have previously come in from the east. The last N9 will now leave Aldwych about ten mins earlier, a fair number of said passengers were still on board past Hammersmith.

Any ideas for new routes to be converted from bus cuts?
I would quite like the 106 and 242 to convert and then the DWs and HVs could be sent to other Arriva garages for other routes.

I'm still hoping for the 53, but not expecting. TfL seem to prefer having the NRMs serving mostly the fashionable parts of London.

Wouldn’t exactly call Thames View the most fashionable part in London

You're welcome to have them on the 53 if it means the 106 stays LT-free!

I would have thought parts of the 242's Clapton Park routeing would be unsuitable. When the 22B was replaced by the former around 1998(?) I remember there was something of a local protest on the news about the L's mounting kerbs. TBH I think the 67 is a more likely convert if the Dalston curtailment goes ahead, using LTs from the 48 (assuming that too is withdrawn).

I guess the Blackheath Society would claim it's above fashion.

Should put the LT's on the 180 instead as that goes though the affluent Greenwich, not so affluent Woolwich & Plumstead, a utterly depressing & run down Yarnton Way and before finally ending in the middle of industrial estate in Belvedere

We already have enough people jump on through the back doors on the 180. If they put LTs on it, the number of fare paying passengers will drop down to a fat zero lol!
